Many in LA are complaining that they now know where the school district shortfalls are coming from. WIthout those 72,000 bodies, classes would be smaller and there would be more money for resources and fixing buildings.
When we encourage illegal immigration, someone else pays. One of the payers is the children of poor Americans in inner city public schools and hospitals. Is that fair? Aren't they human, too?
Where did the sympathy for the American born poor go?
Read the book "On the Down Low" by JL King. He argued that he was not gay, he was "straight" as he bedded men throughout his marriage. His reason for self-deception: the homophobia of the black community. I am black, I've had a boyfriend do this to me, and the realization that if a man wants men, it's not your fault was a release. It's better than thinking he's just a jerk and something is wrong with your judgement. On the other hand, he details how he handled this with his children, and the consequences of a selfish choice.
Please also read "On The Up And Up: A Survival Guide for Women Living with Men on the Down Low"
by Brenda Stone Browder (JL King's ex wife) so you can get an idea of your wife's pain, self-deception, and process for recovery. Also read it so you can avoid JL King's screw ups. If you want to begin to heal your family, start with this step.
I will say this-remember this is not about you. Your wife and child did not sign on for this. They need to come first. The decpetion has undermined her faith in her judgement, her stability, and her attractiveness. The "she should have known" doesn't cut it. She trusted you. Earn back that trust for your son's sake.
"Bush "is the president of the United States," Hoyer said Tuesday, "and he deserves some respect.""
This is why I am an independant. The DNC and most of it's denziens have no balls, no judgement, and no common sense.
Your base is riled, dumbasses. They found this to be hilarious, and they are questioning the judgement of a press that bashes Dems, sometimes gratutitiously. They are smacking back at a President to racked the Dems by using 9/11 and the wish for unity for political gain. The Dems can't even think hard enough to use this to their own advantage.
I'll support my politicians on a case by case basis. I'm sorry, that video was damn funny, and those who can't see it are too humorless to ever get my vote.
One of the women I went to grad school with died because she dated a man on the "down-low". Those who knew didn't tell her, because they thought it wasn't their places. That robbed her of incentive to force him to use protection, and/or not sleep with him. He gave her HIV. I found out after the fact. She was quite bitter that no one had warne her. If she had found out earlier, the new drugs would have helped her to live much longer, and prevented some of the pain.
Somehow it's different when you know someone. It's not theoretical. Seeing that suffering cuts through the ettiquette and the squeamishness.
Black women are being victimized by "the down low". It has more than tripled out HIV positive rates. That's where all of the books, etc are coming from. We can not afford to deny that reality.
So yes, I will tell on cheaters, each and every time. Have you seen people die of AIDs? I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Any jerk who doesn't have enough respect for his or her partner to expose them to diseases by cheating (because cheating does expose people to diseases) doesn't deserve the consideration. The victimized spouses deserves the right to get tested in a timely manner, since that may prevent infection or save their lives. If you say "You need to get tested for STDs" and don't go into details, you've done enough. When they say "But I'm married" you repeat it. That's usually enough for someone half-way intelligent.
Most states do screen for HIV and other STDs at the first pregnancy appointment, whether ot not one is in a committed relationship. People do have sex while pregnant, and HIV contracted during pregnanct can be given to the baby.
It's not about his comfort or hers. It's about the health. Because AIDs is a painful way to die.
"can be met by sending an anonymous letter to Jane stating that she may have been exposed to the HIV virus and should be tested. No more."
I agree
I'm black, I wrote that about the down low because it is true. You may not want to hear it, but that doesn't change the fact that black women are the fastest growing group for HIV, and it comes from homophobia and the down-low. There's been more than enough in the media about it. It isn't exactly a "right wing slur".

I must say being called a Republican for pointing out this cheating behavior is hurting my community, and homophobia is hurting my community, makes me question the person's analytic abilities. If knowing people who have died this way, and wanting to prevent that, makes me a conservative, than Salon is in trouble.
