[Read more letters about this article: Here]@Michael Harold: You "compassionate conservatives" bring up some argument in response to a post, usually a one-liner. I go to all the trouble to provide a counter-argument with corresponding facts and references. You don't respond. You totally ignore it. All you ever do when faced with evidence is just move on the next "talking point."
They're tough enough to cheer while children are burned up by phosphorus in Fallujah and to gleefully fantasize about the many tortures they'd subject terrists to, but they're not tough enough to back up any of these infantile fantasies with reason and truth.
Cowardice is fundamental to the neocon worldview, it's like pulling teeth trying to get a straight answer out of someone like shooter242. They just ignore everything they don't like, and chalk it up to librul bias.
@Svensker: Shooter, I don't believe Iran is a threat to Israel, except in the sense that a powerful Iran balances Israel's nukes, which obviously Israel wouldn't like. [...] Why should I, a nice (or not) Swedish Baptist girl from N.J. (who's become a Quaker) pay either with my taxes or my children's lives, to protect Israel?
Alternatively, why shouldn't we be invading Israel to protect Iran from their weapons?
The logic the Spaced Invaders advocate is tissue-thin, and they're asking Americans to get behind the indiscriminate bombing of Iranian citizens based on nothing else.

Hi shooter242!
[Read the article: Face of a psychopath]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Since you are still reading the thread, please answer my previous question:
What makes Iran such a threat to Israel? Israel has one of the best militaries in the world, a strong economy, and a nuclear weapons program.
What does Ahmenijhad's vitriol do to change that fact?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]So it's all about the Jews?
Where the hell are you getting this stuff?
You should be embarassed that the most useful thing you have to say is "y'all are a bunch of anti-semites."
Nobody said that, that I noticed.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Bush was a Nazi Devil Infidel (oh wait, that was bin Laden, what's the difference?
Bush has killed a whole lot more civilians than bin Laden could with his best-executed, best-planned, most successful effort.
This is a fact. You want to tell me why one is ok and not the other?
Or will you torture-loving, self-loathing closet cases punk out like you do on every direct question put to you?
The one thing a neocon can't handle is straight talk with no bullshit.

"You were fooled by a candlelight vigil, what can I tell you?"

[Read more letters about this article: Here]hrrmm, and you were fooled by an near-retarded prep school kid in a cowboy hat, whose eloquent speeches have convinced you of the GLORY OF VIOLENCE once again!
I'd rather face God a fool than a murderer.
Killing people who have never attacked you is wrong. If you have to explain it any further than that, you're kidding yourself.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]are you personally willing to risk Israel and all it's inhabitants against the proposition that Iran doesn't really mean what it says about genocide?
Since Israel already has nukes, YES.
Even in the worst-made-up-case scenario, Iran gets the bomb yesterday and has 10 by next year, Israel still has the nuclear and military advantage.
If nukes aren't sufficient to protect Israel from Iran, let's get rid of ours.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]First off, get a nickname, you chode. It's free, people want to know who they're talking to.
OK fine, you think Bush is worse than Osama bin Laden. At least I know where you stand.
That's not what I said. I said he killed more people than bin Laden, and that's a fact. Only God can judge who's "worse."
You want a straight up question, here's one for you: Do you agree with Ward Churchill that Americans had 9/11 coming? Straight up, now, geniuses, no weaseling about.
Of course the Americans killed on 9/11 didn't have it coming. By the same logic, no one in Iraq had it coming either, and we killed at least 100 times as many Iraqis as bin Laden killed Americans.
That just ain't right and you know it.
Let us know what you really think of America - by the way I know lots of you arent' Americans, guess what it's no surprise to most of us that you hate and envy Americans. You did before Iraq so why should we pretend that has anything to do with it?
I'm an American. Real Americans wouldn't get all happy at the thought of dropping bombs on women and children. Some of us Americans actually believe in that "God-given rights" stuff, which applies to all his people everywhere.
PS I love that some guy put up a letter defending Ward Churchill. This is the perfect place for that! Sign up, geniuses!
Republicans are the only ones who care who Ward Churchill is. And mostly only Republicans and bloggers have ever even heard of him.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]They traded an uncomfortable degree of probability for a much lower almost non-existent probability. In a life and death situation, I'd say that's prudent.
Not if the "trade" inherently constitutes the removal of life from other humans. Then, your conveniently abstract "trade" becomes an amoral, monstrous proposition, a faith in our own sense of fear that is so deep, it's worth killing for.

Who "deserved" 9/11?
[Read the article: Face of a psychopath]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If America didn't deserve 9/11 (and I agree we didn't, natch) then who did deserve it?
Maybe Iraq "deserved 9/11." Maybe they "deserved" a hundered 9/11s.
Those guys had it coming, right? They deserved all our bombs, didn't they? They deserved rape and torture in illegal prisons, phosphorus on their cities, the re-introduction of land mine use by US forces.
The Iraqis deserved all that. Didn't they?
