[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'd like to believe that Hitler was wrong but our country's behavior certainly seems to be confirming Hitler's insight.
No, it only shows that our country is thinking along the lines of Hitler, who was wrong. America didn't win WWII by becoming like the Nazis. America won't "win" the Never-Ending Story on Terror by becoming like al Qaeda.
Remember, Hitler lost. If we become like the Nazis, our country will fail as well and many Americans will suffer.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]We've already been exposed to instances of, at best, mistaken intelligence -- if not deliberate propaganda -- as a result of these raids in the past. The credibility of the occupation is so damaged that I still don't understand why pundits on both sides continue to take these announcement seriously.
The first thing I thought when I looked at those torture comics was "that looks just like the propaganda we used to put out in Vietnam."
There are multiple possible motivations for America to produce such a thing, I think the most likely is not that the propaganda was aimed at Americans, but anti-al Qaeda propaganda aimed at Iraqis. The pictures are horrific, hardly anyone would willingly sign up for that. The comic "manual" seems designed to induce revulsion, not to be used as instructions.
Another reason to think the comics are aimed at Iraqis is because the victims are apparently Arab and bearded like Muslims:

Further, al Qaeda is extremely religious and their particular interpretation of the Hadiths forbids the rendering of humans and animals. (Not big fans of Mani.)
Probably some unit unaware of the propaganda effort against al Qaeda picked these up and it has gotten filtered back into our own media.

Hey, look over there, it's an unrelated topic!

[Read more letters about this article: Here]The ONLY thing that should be tortured is an unwanted fetus. I'll teach you for being conceived! Come here and let me suck your brain out.
As if one immoral act could justify another.
Are you a Christian, anonymous coward? You cannot support torture. You may think you are pointing out a hypocrisy, but there is no tie between abortion and institutionalized, legal torture other than the one the Neocon party has created.
A pro-life Christian must oppose both abortion and torture if they wish to maintain any moral standing.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Futher, those who vote Republican on the abortion issue have not called for any real effort on the part of Republicans. Bush didn't spend a penny on a "Department of Fetus Security", did he. He did appoint two supreme court justices, but you'll
The GOP doesn't care about abortion except as an issue to get votes and power. If they were as genuinely outraged as they claim, the 3000 dead on 9-11 would be a footnote in their platform. That hasn't happened.
They are liars, they do not really care about abortion, and no one can pretend otherwise.
