I love Opus
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have to say, this is a welcome edition to salon.com. I love this comic strip, and it is right on target politically. Keep up the great work.
Thanks,

Sexual Objectification
[Read the article: Blood-and-guts politics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Paglia wrote:
"Buñuel put Asti on glorious full display in "The Phantom of Liberty." There's a phenomenal scene where, except for black net stockings, Asti is seated nude at a piano as she vigorously plays Brahms' "Rhapsody." What wit and aplomb! And one can admire that sleek, sensuous form from every angle. Sontag sure got the goods."
Even though Paglia doesn't agree with feminists, I am shocked that she would sexually objectify Asti with that last comment. Since when is another human being "goods" to be gotten? It's exactly this type of thinking that leads to violence against women, including rape, battering and sexism.
Way to go with the furthering of equality and non-sterotypical roles for women, Camille!

Does Palin know what an achilles heel is?
[Read the article: Sarah Palin exceeds expectations -- and still loses]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When the moderator asked both candidates about their achilles heel, Palin didn't answer the question. Not only did she not answer the question, I don't think she understood the question. Doesn't she know what an achilles heel is? She didn't do this in a calculated, "I'm going to change the issues way," she did this in a "I heard a different question" way.
Also, she needs to stop saying nuclear as if it has three syllables to it -- not only is it folksy, it sounds like George W. Bush.
She was completely unprepped for at least one question -- at what point would you use nuclear warfare, and also possibly the Darfur question. Did her handlers think they could prep for her everything?

Is She is the Female Ned Flanders?
[Read the article: Sarah Palin exceeds expectations -- and still loses]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sarah Palin, with her "say it ain't so, Joe," and "you betcha!" and winking, is the Female Ned Flanders.
