"The nation's businesses want the migrants here"

but the people don't. And the politicians are caught between the two.

The answer is easy, if not palatable to the 'liberal' community: enforce existing laws and jail company managers that are repeat offenders of hiring illegal’s. No fence needed.

As for the "GOP contortions", I don't see the Democrats doing any better. They want the immigrants here to be new democrat voters, the Catholics want them here to be new parishioners, the unions want them here to be new union members, only the American people don't want them here, and who cares about their views?

Original article: Edwards' insensitive move

The only people that this will offend

are those weak in the head and unable to reason for themselves. Unfortunately for all of us, that seems to be a majority of Americans.

As an example of the inability to reason, consider that the people that claim to 'support the troops' are the ones that want to continue seeing them shot at, bombed, mortared, blasted with rpg's and generally assaulted and killed in every way possible.

On the other hand, those that want to bring them home to be safe, to be able to support and raise their families in their own country, those people are the ones characterized as hating the troops.

Go figure.

Unbelievable

With spineless wimps like the Democrats in Cogress, who needs enemies? If they do this I will be voting Green in '08.

Alan Lloyd

Why would I want to call you anything except late to dinner?

Lose the gains you made? The democrats have a majority. They have the wishes of the people behind them. If that is not enough to do the work they were voted into office to do, then there is no reason to vote them back into office. None. Nada.

Excuse me Mr. Lloyd

perhaps it is too much to ask, but can we debate like adults? No need to use terms like 'tantrum' or 'immediate gratification' unless you have nothing of substance to say.

When you move on to "Spoiled children, both of you" it is clear you do have nothing to say.

The answer to your question "OK, so they send the same thing up, and it gets vetoed again (personally, I'm for that one.) and then what?" is quite easy and has been said several times. Bush needs the money to continue the war. So what if democrats can't override a veto? No bill, no money for the war. That seems simple to me but perhaps there is a hidden consequence I haven't thought of. Let's try that again: no bill (because of fillibuster or veto) = no money for the war. Then technically the war can't continue. Done, over, get them out. Please feel free to explain what I am missing if you can keep the crap out of your reply.

Why?

"why, since the MSM is so administration-friendly, are the American people polling so anti-Bush?"

Because the relentless train wreck that is the Bush admininstration is getting harder and harder to explain away as 'good for America', like a rotton smell that just keeps increasing and can no longer be explained away as just 'something in the fridge'.

What I want to know is,

why do the people that want to keep the troops in harms way, to be shot at, bombed, mortared, blasted, rocketed; to suffer shell shock, to have their brains addled by large explosions, or just waiting for an explosion, to become mentally disturbed at a 30% rate, to be kept away from their homes and families indefinitely; these people get to say they are supporting the troops, but the people that want to bring them home to raise their families in the safety of their own country, these people hate the troops? Maybe there is something wrong with me, but that seems crazy.

This has brought out the clueless

For example, PoliticalRealityOnline's diatribe goes like

"Every American who has perished in Iraq died to defend the American way of life", what's this, another in the long list of excuses why we invaded a country that was no threat to us? WMB, he was a bad man, freedom for Iraqis, the excuses never stop, and now PoliticalFantasy has brought a new and improved reason! Excuse me for laughing. Make that crying.

"ignore the severe threat of radical Islam"? Dude, the ones ignoring the 'severe threat' are those that brought us this folly, they have both created a training ground for 'radical Islam' in Iraq and have created the perfect alliance for radical Islam: the natural alliance between Iraq and Iran. How is that for 'ignore... radical Islam'? Ignoring doesn't get any better than that.

"Some of us live in the real world", but that isn't you, PoltiticalFantasy. Thanks for supporting the fools that have brought us to the brink of this disaster with their lies and their crimes, not these same fools, nor you, will be the ones to extricate us from the maelstrom.

US out of Iraqnam!
