Do we need to suffer fools gladly?

"Climate change, keyed to solar cycles, is built into Earth's system"

Source, please? The causes of past climate changes, such as the ice ages, continue to be fiercely debated, there is no such conclusion as "Climate change [is] keyed to solar cycles". That is a pure lie.

And then there is "When Gore told a congressional hearing last month that there is a universal consensus among scientists about global warming -- which is blatantly untrue -- he forfeited his own credibility."

You are such a stupid sack of s**t. There are still people that argue the earth is flat, I guess you believe them.

I have never said this before, but if Salon continues to publish crap like this them my premium account is likely not to be renewed.

You are too generous to Bush

Gary, you make the following statements:

"He truly believed he was honoring the dead and preventing another atrocity."

"In their eyes, their intentions were good."

"Bush is a devout Christian"

I don't think any of these are true.

The problem is

that evolution did not structure human beings to thrive in a world dominated by capitalism. Better nutrition? Restrictions on the targeting of children? Nah, lets just engineer children to resist the nutritionless enticements offered to them every day. Then someone can make a profit from leptin as wall! That's the commercial way.

Can it get any more stupid? I can't see how.

mitch

The soil contains a large amount of carbon in the form of degraded and degrading plant matter, called in this form 'humus' (not chickpea mash). The humus feeds the worms, bacteria, fungus and other soil organisms that enrich the soil, bind it and provide water retention. The humus degrades with time and is replenished with plant waste. If all of the plant waste is hauled away to produce biofuel, eventually the soil looses its nutritive value and cohesion, ceases to nurish plants and blows and washes away.

Don't forget that Gagliani

ignored the fact that the first trade center attack revealed emergency services communications to be in disarray but did nothing about it, resulting in more police and fire fighter deaths on 9/11 because they couldn't be warned to leave the buildings.

Various item of my own

The Salon ap article is titled "Bush Will Work With Democrats on Iraq"

I post a response here because there is nowhere else to do so.

Why does Salon post an article with such an obvious lie? Is there anyone at Salon so brain damaged that they actually believe "Bush Will Work With Democrats on Iraq"? Or is this some kind of robo-post from the AP? I look forward to others like "Bush says Love Your Enemy", "Bush Embraces More Taxes On The Rich", can it get any more insane?

Paul Bremer said...

Titus Pullo

in response to Reid's statement "We're going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war", says

"That is the definition of craven political calculation...That is why Harry Reid is a traitor"

Generally I hate responding to willful idiots, but I will make an exception. Clearly titus is of the opinion that the truth is treasonous, a position often taken by the right. Reid is almost certainly correct, because Americans are justly sick of this war yet the right clings to it like a drowning man clings to a life raft. Democrats will pick up seats, and saying so is simply stating the obvious, something the right is allergic to. As for traitors, those of the right that continue to support this monstrosity are traitors each and every one.

I guess we finally know,

from their own words, who the real traitors to America are.

More power to 'em

Anyone that resists this criminal war is a hero that deserves our support.

As for "soldiers don't get to quit when they feel like it", no one can be forced to engage in a criminal act, I don't care why they joined the military. They certainly didn't join to support a criminal invasion; if only more Americans had the spine to resist the criminality of this assministration the world would be a whole lot better off.

I think you are wrong

when you say

"Living with cancer does not necessarily bring wisdom, but it should, at least, encourage tolerance rather than a continuation of our current to-the-jugular partisanship".

And yet there is no tolerance from the people you mention. These are some of the most hateful, bigoted people in the nation. Your thesis is rejected, QED.

Thursday, May 3, 2007 07:50 AM

Well?

Well, 'War Room', did they or did they not back down? I thought you were keeping us up to date, how can you let something this important go unmentioned? If they did as the paper says, then they are spineless wimps. What gives? Where are you? Hello? Anybody home?

Thursday, May 3, 2007 10:31 AM

I can't believe what I am reading

"Given a choice between bush and kerry, they were right."

Someone is out of their freaking mind.

Globalization has only 1 purpose

and it is not to bring up the standards of workers in other countries, but to increase the profits of the corporations that used to employ us.

How do you like all the dead pets from poisoned Chinese imports? Didn't this country once have laws protecting our food and drink? Yes, but globalization did an end-run around our laws and now the laws, and the concept of sovereignty, have been neutralized by the corporations that have forced globalization down our throats. Look to be poisoned by more garbage from countries that don't have the controls we once had. You ain't seen nothing yet.

tiberius, if the rantings of progressives upsets you then you must be a sado-masochist; a masochist to return to this site, a sadist to subject us to your posts.
