Why did you choose Farhad Manjoo to review this book? He published about 6 articles after the election declaring that there was no election theft. Since he has worked to hard to convince everyone there was no fraud, it seems to me he was an inappropriate choice to do this review.
In Manjoos article, he worries about men who get women pregnant, and says
"He's got no say in whether he becomes a parent; the decision is in someone else's hands, not his own."
Oh? Is birth control no longer available? If you want a say in a womens pregnancy that's easy! Don't get her pregnant!
When this man was invited to stay at the house of the host he had every right to expect that he was staying in a safe secure environment. Is this the first theft to occur in this house? I doubt it! If not, the host had a duty to warn the guests, if so the host still had an obligation to provide a suitable environment for the guests. This money was stolen by agents of the host. A self respecting host should have provided reimbursement with no option of refusal, if only to efface the embarrassment they should feel. If these people feel no such embarrassment by this theft, then you enter their world at your peril. These are not nice people and you will continue to be burned by them. If you want to play in their world give the money to dad but be more aware of the world you are entering.
I support a women’s right to choice, but I also believe abortion is wrong. If allowed to, a fetus can become the most amazing thing in the universe as we know it: a self-aware being capable of perceiving the universe from it's distant edge, understand its origin in the distant past and inspect its structure at the subatomic scale. We have exploded life’s ability to interact with its surroundings by about 20 orders of magnitude greater than any other life form. If this doesn't leave you awestruck I don't know what will. And the beings capable of these wonders virtually grow themselves! It is sad to destroy one of these before their time.
The answer is to reduce unwanted pregnancies to the absolute minimum through sex education, widely available birth control, emergency contraception and adoption. The rub of course is that the same people that are against abortion are against most of these measures that would greatly reduce the incidents of abortion. For that reason I consider the likes of the Catholic Church and other contraception and sex education foes to be responsible for more abortions that all of Planned Parenthood. They must be made to understand that they, and no one else, are the biggest obstacle to reduced abortion numbers.
is that they don't even see what has happened to themselves. The point of not creating an image of Mohammed was so that the Muslim population would not idolize him. It is clear from the reactions to the cartoons that this has failed. The reaction has been so strong because Mohammed has indeed become idolized. Unless they can reverse this they will always be on a hair trigger, and it has nothing to do with the West.
The Democratic party is like a deer in the headlights. In this case the driver of the car is dead, the car is weaving back and forth across the road and it is running on fumes, but the democratic deer just stands there and it WILL be run over. The only solution is to shoot the spin-meisters and get real, but it won't happen.
Stupidity: it's a renewable resource!
is a book by Phillip K. Dick that makes these exact points. It was either at the beginning or the end of the book where 2 Brits are conversing and one says something like "Can you believe the fires in America are still burning and we can still smell it over here?"
Stupidity: it's a renewable resource!
What's the point in expecting journalists to confront this nonsense? Their profession has sunk to 2 notches below crack dealers, rapists, whores and child pornographers. May they rot in hell.
Stupidity: it's a renewablr resource!
They will come here until America is as miserable a place to live as Mexico. Is that what you want?
Business wants them here because they are the new slave labor. They come because they want to support a family. Suggestion: if you can't support a family from what you make in your country, maybe you shouldn't have a family. America doesn't owe you one. The Mexican population has doubled since Americas' last amnesty 20 years ago. A new amnesty will only guarantee another doubling of the Mexican population in another 20 years, and 22 million more here illegally. Some solution.
say something along the lines of 'beware the hypocrite that prays in public'?
"Government lawyers had assured him" is just another way to say "I was only following orders". If the man can't understand the simple language of the 4th Ammendment then he is too stupid; if he understands it but works to violate it he is a traitor. The rest of your legal crap you can shove where appropriate.
who says "The 4th amendment says that people are free from unreasonable searches and seizure, without a warrant." and then argues that the administration makes the assessment of what is reasonable.
The problem is, assessing something like 'reasonable' requires something called 'nuance', which this administration by it's own admission 'doesn't do'. Thus we can rest assured that the end, spying on Americans, was a forgone conclusion just like the Iraq war. To these criminals 'reasonable' is only a** cover for their criminal behavior and should not be misinterpreted as having any rational basis and should be resisted strenuously.
I can't wait until the FBIs' budget comes up for renewal. Maybe then they will learn the meaning of 'don't bite the hand that feeds you', but probably not.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
The accountability imposed by another country for the CIA's kidnapping and torture reveals much about our own.
Fox News' morning show plays to type, talking about whether Muslims in the Army should face "special debriefings"
The survivor and author is upset about comparisons some on the right are making to genocide
Once seen as a lunatic fringe, reactionary anti-women groups are courting respectability
