Stock Prices Do Not Reflect Anything Essential

The stock price of a company only reflects what someone is willing to pay for it, nothing else. It doesn't correlate to any inherent worth in the company.

Climate Change is Inevitable

I am tired of hearing about it.

Anyone who thinks humanity can work as a whole for a solution that would require nearly every person on the globe to radically change their lifestyle is deluded.

Just deal with it.

@RaoulM - you have to admit the earth used to be much warmer in the past and is now relatively cool. In geologic time, we are still coming out of the last ice age.

Never been to Ikea...

but I learned to never buy cheap tires or a cheap mattress. Better a nice mattress on the floor than a cheap mattress in a frame. Try craigslist or instructables.com to save some cash.

DO NOT JOIN THE MILITARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost joined the Navy when I was 20, luckily I had flat feet. I ended up joining the Air Force about 10 years later to help pay for graduate school. It was, by far, the biggest mistake I have ever made. Four years of hell with almost no redeeming experiences.

DO NOT JOIN THE MILITARY!

Adventureland is a horrible movie

The only movie on this list I have seen is Adventureland. It was horrible. Was it supposed to be a comedy or an after-school special? It was nearly humorless and poorly written.

If it is anything like these other movies I will avoid them all.

Disaster

"At this point, one can only conclude that it will require an even bigger disaster than the recent crisis to bring real change to Wall Street."

That is why I am glad Amish live nearby...

Don't know about Star Trek Live

But, Star Trek's dead creator should remain earth-bound. A society that tolerates launching mortal remains into space is a decadent one, not an idealistic one.

The Number One Cause of Death...

is Birth! It has a 100% mortality rate. Life is fucking absurd...

My question is why are you giving children tamiflu without symptoms? That is poor medical practice. Grow a pair of balls! Remember your education!

Behold, the New Elvis

And my wife said I was wrong about that... What is the contemporary equivalent of K-Tel records?

Atheism is also a religion

Religion is a belief not based on knowledge, whether it be christianity or atheism. Atheists are even organized, just like real religions. No one knows the truth, one way or the other.

I just don't understand why an atheist would marry a Catholic without some sort of discussion beforehand. People are strange...

@ishobo

I have never met an atheist who was not agnostic. — ishobo

Then you haven't met many atheists. I disagree with your definitions. Atheists are not a subset of agnostics. Agnostics lack a belief in god, while atheists believe in a lack of god. The differences between agnostics and atheists are substantial.

Just Hurry and Warm Up...

I wish the globe would just warm up so I won't have to hear people talking about it anymore...

It's truly ridiculous that people still think we can do anything about it anyway.
