No Way
[Read the article: Should I tell my daughter about her mother's two abortions?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's not his story to tell. Sorry. There is a huge number of other issues (I could have had brothers/sisters, she might have aborted me, why would she do it, how did she feel, etc.) and she should be the one to tell.
You can inform your daughter about birth control and deal with her sexuality issues without discussing your ex's decisions, in essence dumping a lot of emotional stuff onto your daughter that she doesn't need to deal with on top of the other turmoil that necessarily goes on in a teen's life.
There is time for your wife to disclose this if she wishes, but it's not relevant to what your daughter needs to know to survive high school and being sexually active and having experienced some alternative sexuality (she may actually be gay and trying to conform by having sex with guys).
She is in a maelstrom of emotional stuff right now. Leave your wife's history out of it until your daughter isn't already inundated with confusion.
It's tough enough being a teen without all the additional questions and turmoil this will cause.

Did he come from a shelter?
[Read the article: "Year of the Dog" contest: Li'l Pup]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It looks like he's trying to gather up any stray food into the bowl before he starts eating. If a shelter or his previous owner used to spill the food a bit, he's probably used to their being stray bits around the bowl.
I know it's cute but the way he does it, you may want to have his eyes checked, since he's not "seeing" specific pieces of food.
Cutie pie, though!

Another correction about House
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Heather says: "Then underling Cameron tells House that she's ready to move on as well, right before (or after?) getting busy (in an extremely casual, understated fashion) with fellow underling Chase."
Cameron and Chase have been having sex for a long time, Heather. There was a point to the event, which was that Cameron had broken it off because Chase fell for her (she liked it casual and she said he "ruined it" by getting serious). The fact that she showed up again means she's ready to take the relationship to a more serious place. So the implication is that this was anything but casual.
By the way, in this episode, House actually says to the woman who, waking from "death" says "Is this heaven?" and he answers "No, New Jersey". Are you even watching, Heather?
Which takes me to the next thing: I second the letter that asks Heather about "The Riches". She thoroughly dissed the pilot, as well as Eddie and Minnie's accents, before most of us would have seen the show. In fact, it is now my favorite show, and who the f**k cares about Eddie's accent - he deserves an emmy for the "Your Brain On Drugs" episode alone. I have some peeves about it, but overall it's a great show, and worthy of a second look Heather. This time watch it.
FYI, the Riches don't live in Seattle either.

Anonymous hearts Chase
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm one of the "watches House even though the writing sux!" crowd.
Some of the writing on House is pretty good, but overall, it's the same plot each week (Oh, now's where they reassure the patient he will be healed as they inject the . . ./make out and/or snipe at one another while the MRI images the patient's . . ./argue in Cuddy's office about . . . uh oh!!!! Start compressions! duh duh DUH . . . commercial). Even having patients die is not enough of a change up from the formulaic plot.
I agree with the comments that House (as much as we Cameron-like caretakers and Laurie-philes would like) should just remain the misanthropic asshole he is despite any small changes he makes. The other characters could use some tightening up. Foreman has always been sort of arrogant so it's not as interesting that he's "becoming like House" - it would have been more interesting if pretty boy nice guy Chase is the guy who found himself becoming all asshole-y and not care-y. Or better yet, Cameron, who has demonstrated her own ruthless streak but it's not coalescing - it just seems tacked on.
I think the point is that House is having an effect on all of them to the extent he's injected some ruthlessness into their demeanor, or allowing their ruthlessness to show itself, but it needs work. I'm watching encouragingly but right now it's like watching your kid play swarmball soccer - the direction is somewhat clear but the positions of the players are a bit of a jumble. It's good to move away from stark, predictable archetypes, but not towards mushy and ill-defined.
I still like to watch, but needs a bit of a transfusion.

Funny I didn't hear anyone
[Read the article: Libby sentencing: Does the underlying crime matter?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]saying as much about Martha Stewart - she was not convicted of insider trading but of "lying" to investigators merely by saying "I didn't do it!" - the fact that she was not found to have "done it" notwithstanding.
None of these sanctimonious buttwads had an ounce of concern because she took the focus off of their nefarious dealings, and gave the public a moment of "satisfaction" that something was being done about "corporate crooks".
