Re: My wife quit shaving her legs and it turns me off

How about this. A mutually agree upon trade - He shaves his back, or plucks his nose-hairs, or keeps his feet and toenails clean and trimmed as a trade for her shaving her legs.

I don't shave my legs but my leg hairs are so fine and blonde you can hardly see or feel them. Most of us women grew up in a time it was expected and if you didn't do it you were a freak. It's time for people to get over the "childlike, hairless" view of women. She not a prepubescent girl, she's a woman. Treat her like the sexy woman that she is and it will pay off in the bedroom. If you feel strongly about shaved legs talk to her. Or just accept her as she is and love her for it.

Appreciate what you have and join Big Brother/Sister

First of all seems you knew that she wasn't looking to be a Mommy. Now that she's said well "maybe 30%" you want to push the issue. That means she's 70% sure she does NOT want them. Do you really want to possibly ruin what sounds like a great marriage?

Have you talked about if you did have children, who would the various duties? Who would stay home from their job when the child is sick? Who gets to work late and who gets passed up on the career track because they have to be home when school is out and take time off for sick children and doctors. This is a career move that usually can not be made up. Will she resent you if this happens to her?

I say keep your life as is, but maybe also join Big Brother/Big Sister to meet those needs you have to nurture children. Or volunteer and the community center or to coach soccer. Baby sit for your friends. There are many ways to have children in your life part time.

I'm a Buddhist in Big Pharma -- is that cool?

Seems like you have two main choices and many smaller choices to make depending on which door you walk through. You can stay there in your current position. Then make the choice to either make the best of the situation, i.e. treat the animals well as someone else who has that experience did, or try to make changes from inside the industry. Seems to me less animals can be used in favor of computer models, stem cell research, etc. If you stay there but move to a job further away from the animal testing (in my opinion) you are still supporting it so you may as well stay where you are and treat the animals the best you can until their death. Unless the other position gives you policy/decision making ability that will benefit the situation for the animals.

Or you can leave and investigate other professions. You seem to have an interest in alternative medicine. Please continue your research into it before deciding. You mention it cannot cure genetic diseases. Actually some healers are now doing that. Please read the book The Reconnection by Eric Pearl readily availible, Amazon, etc. Eric was a successful LA chiropractor when healing energy started coming to him and he takes part in radical healings. He now travels the world giving lectures and teaching this to others. Read the book and see if you feel drawn to check it out more. If not this is not for you. I am an energy healer (Reiki, Reconnection, etc). I am just starting out in my new "career", having just left my office job for it. I am constantly amazed at the results and the energy continues to grow as I use it. I expect someday to see these kind of amazing dna level results healing people. Another famous healer with a somewhat different approach to energy healing is Adam (no last name used) who has been famous for this since he was 16. Another one using a different method but working on genetic/dna level is Vianna Stibal. Isn't it better that we learn to cure the disease rather than treat the symptoms with an onslaught of prescription drugs? Some areas of alternative medicine are doing this now. I see this field as the future.

Only you know what is right for you to do. If you can stay in your current position and effect change on how the animals are treated and eventually the amount of them used that is an admirable thing to do. Or if you leave and follow some other healing path that is great and I wish you sucess. Or you may go into some unrelated field. Just go within yourself for the answers because they are there.

Offended by breastfeeding? Get over it!

Shame on anyone who is against public breastfeeding. You have all kinds of excuses: i'm religious, i'm a man, you can do it in the bathroom (which is a discusting suggestion, really, think about it!!). Just get over it! If you don't want to see it look the other way. If you are sitting on the same row ask the flight attendent to move you or just turn your head. We are not talking about porn here, we are talking about a mother feeding her child!

We need to support women who breastfeed. It boosts the immunity of the child and is a natural act of motherhood. Also many cultures who breastfeed the child do it for several years, not just the first few months of life. That is the choice of the parent, none of your business.

I support the women who came out to support the woman who was removed from the plane. Good for them and all mothers who chose breastfeeding will benefit from their action.
