Question on Issues Raised in Kenya Article
[Read the article: The roots of Kenya's upheaval]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The article mentions that many of the people living in Kibera moved there from rural, agrarian communities motivated by false hopes of improving their lot. Why isn't there a program of education and assistance to get them to realize the mistake they have made and move back to those communities instead of staying in such a hellhole? The approach which everyone seems to be taking currently is to try to make a purse out of a sows ear, rather than pursing the obvious solution.

Energy Saving Fluorescent Bulbs
[Read the article: Ask Pablo]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I had a problem with one of these bulbs when I used it with a dimmer switch - it started to smoke. As far as I know, they don't warn the consumer about this potential problem. Also, I have had some of these bulbs give off a chemical odor while on (like a computer will do sometimes if it has not been cleaned of industrial solvents used in the manufacturing process). This could be a problem for people with chemical sensitivities.

Sarah Palin is ruining my life.
[Read the article: Sarah Palin is ruining my life]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Been there, done that, only mine was Bush and Cheney. The Secret way to do it is: know that what you focus on you empower. I am sure you don't want to empower Sarah, so that should be enough of a motivation to stop what you are doing. As a substitute, focus on what you want, politically, such as Obama and Biden as President and Vice-President, acting for the highest and best good for all concerned. It can be very ZEN when you get the hang of it.
