If these people really believe that guns, God, abortion and gays are the most important issues facing our country today, and not a disastrous economy that is being run according to Republican principles, or a war that is going to take their children away from them and turn them into cannon fodder, or a health care system that is going to make sure that they and their children will not get the medical care that they need, then they really are stupid, misled or otherwise unaware.
I want to see you tell some family that it doesn't matter that they've lost everything because at least they're on the right side of the "gays" issue. I wonder how much applause you'll get.
Your ideal movie theater sounds just wonderful.

...to satisfy their limited intellect.
Project much?
Noonan must have been something to watch whenever the voices in her head danced madly when she was around him: “He’s my President.” “He’s my daddy!” “He’s my lover.” “He’s my President.” “He’s my daddy!” “He’s my lover.”
It's too bad about Roseanne. I was a big fan of her TV series and thought it was terrific. But since the show ended and one project of hers after another has bombed, it seems that the only way she can keep her name alive is to make one outrageous statement after another.
The members of the corporate mainstream news media will never admit how irrelevant, incompetent and unimportant they are.
All of the awards shows, Oscars, Emmys, Tonys, Grammys, as well as the contest shows like Miss America, have been declining in ratings for a long time. Maybe such shows are no longer relevant to the majority of people like they were in the '50s and '60s.
I think that the Oscars would best be served by going back to being a private affair, like they were before they became the televised spectacle that they are now. Then the winners could go on as long as they like, the attendees could get as drunk as they like, and those of us who are really interested could chuckle about the stories in the next day's paper.
But has he ever gotten misty-eyed over . . . the Wright Brothers and what kind of country allowed them to go off on their own and change everything? How about D-Day, or George Washington, or Henry Ford, or the losers and brigands who flocked to Sutter's Mill, who pushed their way west because there was gold in them thar hills? There's gold in that history.
These names and images really mean nothing to Noonan other than to act as sound bytes of wholesomeness. She could have substituted Walt Disney, the World's Fair, Grandma Moses, a train, or any other icon for the names she mentioned, and she wouldn't care about the complexity or richness of their history.
I can't stand any of these pompous, corporate mainstream media shills. Williams, Gibson, Russert, Matthews...they delude themselves endlessly, even when it's apparent that their delusions are going to destroy them (and, of course, they don't care that their dishonesty affects the rest of us).
It's a never ending circle jerk with these guys.
