Narnia

Re: "Having been banished to our world after Aslan chased her out of Narnia, Snowe is intent on corrupting this place too"

The Religious Right puts great stock in the Chronicles of Narnia, considering a stand-in for the story of Jesus Christ. By invoking Narnia and the ice queen, he is trying to tell his Conservative listeners that Jesus opposes the Democratic Health Care reforms.

It will work perfectly on that group.

As long as...

As long as a right wing broadcaster can make $25 million a year by screaming hate this will not stop.

The cowardice of Republicans such as Christie Todd Whitman, Colin Powell, Tom Ridge and Sandra Day O’Connor when they had power made this possible. The continued complicity of Republican leaders such as Orin Hatch maintains it.

Your post is a string of quotatoins from every Creatoinist Apology

And makes no sense whatsoever.

Clever quotes (such as the cement mixer) make for rousing speeches at the Sunday night church service, but they are not science. Evolutionary behavior has been scientifically observed, and new species have been observed, both in the fossil record and among such animals as the Farroe island mice.

Research, analysis and hard work make for scientific theories and conclusions. Clever comments are not science.

Shaking the crazy tree.

Sean Hannity and the FoxNews crazies (but I repeat myself) will go crazy about this declaring, “They’re coming to rape us in our homes” on a daily basis.

And 100% of Conservatives will buy into it.

Original article: "Obama is average"

How is it that....

A man who has been dead wrong about absolutely everything for the past ten years is being asked anything about by anyone at all?

Joe was rejected by the democratic electorate in his party's primary

He will never get over his bitterness of that event.

Never. He will spend the rest of his career in Washington getting his revenge on Democrats. He will be the GOP mole in ever democratic initiative: And enjoy every minute of it, regardless of the consequences.

And the Republicans will milk him for all it is worth, then toss him aside the minute he leaves office.

I know this.

Everyone knows this.

But Harry Reid is so spineless that Joe will bet away with it, forever.

The Tea Parties are neigher good nor bad for the Republican Party

The Tea Parties ARE the Republican Party.

There is no longer a wing of the Party that are NOT Tea Baggers. Everyone else already has been, or soon will be, purged.

Threat?

Re: "In short, my team has a few "issues" rooting around, no question about it. But I'm not too concerned about them, because I don't think they're genuinely threatening."

Oh no?

They certainly did a lot of damage when they were running the Bush Administration for the past eight years.

The Democratic Party might as well...

Hand the Judiciary Committee back to Orin Hatch while they are at it.

Both Orin and Joe are loyal Republicans: One in name and the other in fact.

The only real question is how much weaker Harry Reid will make the Democratic Party by tolerating it.

My betting is that there is nothing that Joe Lieberman can do that will cost him his Chair. Senator Joe could campaign for 100% Republicans, even making a trip to Nevada to campaign against Harry Reid, and still keep his Chair.

I no longer blame Joe Lieberman for any of this. As long as Harry Reid will tolerate 100% opposition from Joe Lieberman, and cave at even the first hint of a filibuster from Republicans on anything at all, we Democrats will deserve everything we get, including a Republican Congress in 2011.

Unfortunately, when Republicans control Congress, we will be back to the 1990's, including militia testifying in front of Congressional committees about "black helicopters and weather control satellites" and an impeachment inquire over Barak Obama's birth certificate.

And we can thank the party leader without a spine for it, and a party that tolerated him.

Of course NeoConservatives would use a "Macho" apppeal to shift a President's position

Look at how well it worked on George W. Bush.

All they had to do was write "Bring 'em on" into a speech and we were off to war.

Score one for the Birthers

And, with this their strength will only grow.

Pretty soon Rush Limbaugh will be too liberal.

Saturday, October 31, 2009 06:49 PM

This is a gimmee putt that will be spun as Tea Party momentum in the media when they just cannabalized themselves.

That is the problem. Our media is so intimidated by the Political Right that it will echo FoxNews talking points wihtout even a pretence of analysis or fact checking.

The right-wing crazies can take over the country again. All it will take is a concerted effort on the part of theBeirhters and continued reporting that thinks "fact checking" means comparing statements from Rush Limbaugh AND Sean Hannity.

We have to hit back, constantly and hard. Calling out Right wing lies and not trying to give the benefit of the doubt to Republican politicians whose sole priority is putting sarah Palin in the White House in 2013.

Sunday, November 1, 2009 02:17 PM

The purge being conducted by the wingnuts will continue.

It will more than continue: It will accelerate. Now that the Birthers know they control the party, their ambitions will increase.

By 2012, Rush Limbaugh will be the most "Moderate" voice in the Republican party.

Conservative and Republican are not synonymous.

Re: "If all of this is correct, why would any actual conservative vote for him--he is, like Boehner and the others, a "CINO", is he not? Conservative and Republican are not synonymous. "

But in this country they vote synonymously. And that is all that matters.

That major media outlets would lazily repeat web-rumors rather than doing their own legwork…

Is the most predictable thing of all. It has been what they have done for the past decade.

Sunday, November 8, 2009 07:07 AM

Of course they sound alike.

They share the same objective: Endless war.

why did they have to stay in refugee camps."

Re: "No one said the Palestinians had to become citizens of the new countries - my question is why did they have to stay in refugee camps."

Because no other country, Arab, Persian or Asian: Muslim or Christian would take them in. that glaring bit of hypocrisy is why.

But, before we become too puffy about it, recall what the United States did when the S S St Louis arrived at our shores.

Execution

Are you insinuating that Muslims shold be executed for being Muslims?

Monday, November 9, 2009 07:27 PM

The Democrats are giving away the store to a group of Conservatives...

not one of whom will vote for the final bill anyway.

They are both spineless AND stupid.
