You are all missing the point

It does not matter one little bit if the candidate actually has any ability, skill or even experience. All that matters is that the speaker says the words that project a canvas upon which the Religious can project their version of Jesus.

George W. Bush, who still retains 100% loyalty form the James Dobson contingent proved that.

Now it is a race between Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum as to which one is the image of Jesus American’s religious fanatics can use as their next savior. And they will back one of these three, without exception, without a single thought or hesitation.

Since Ronald Reagan struck his deal with Jerry Falwell they always have. And as long as the Republican party is the Party of Jesus, they always will.

In the end it was all about power.

Conservativs were not ony willing to say anything, they were willing to believe anything, as long as it lead to power.

That is why out-of-wedlock births went from the scourge of society to an affirmation of strength: As long as it bolstered Sarah Palin.

There was not even the memory of believing otherwise.

Add to that the faux-outrage that NeoConservaties attached to everything they ever said and you have an ideology of hate-insired power seeking.

There is nothing else.

Much in the same way the neocons reflexively support Israel?

I personally ascribe two reasons for that support.

One is the prospect of contiual, escelating war that eminates from encouragig the most radical rightwing elements of Israeli governmental actions, forestalling any chance of peace.

The second, somewhat parallel reason is that encoraging war between Israel and its Muslim neighbors is aligned with the desire of Christian fundamentalists to hasten the return of Jesus and the end of the world, as derived from their reading of the Revelation of John.

In both cases, the more carnage, the better Conservatives like it.

Libertarians...

are really still Conservatives who are trying to apply a new label to themselves to avoid accountability for their support of George w. Bush and his Conservative debacles.

Original article: Deal with it, liberals

Unfortunately

President Obama will bend over backwards to satisfy Republican demands, yet....

Republicans will still fillibuster the bill.

Not one Republican will vote for the final bill.

Half of the Blue Dog Democrats will not vote for the bill.

And yet Repubicans will STILL call all Democrats (including Blue Dogs) "Socialists" and demand to see Barak Obama's birth certificate.

That is what happens when you try to "work with" those who hate you not because of what you beleive, but what you are.

And, immediately following that...

The dealer would present Mr.Reid with an invoice for $61,000, which he would promptly pay with a check for $72,000.

Monday, September 28, 2009 07:31 PM

Calling Harry Reid spineless.....

Is an insult to jellyfish everywhere.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 07:36 PM

Can’t happen in the Senate

As long as the Democrats are being led by a spineless Majority Leader who is more interested in capitulating to every Republican demand that supporting his own party.

Logic is not the only thing in short supply.

So was even the vestige of a spine: Among Democrats.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 07:44 PM

I like Fox, but that type of thing isn't good for them.

Don't worry.

Not one in one hundred Fox viewers will care if the story is true or not, or even if it makes sense. Just as long as it feeds their insane levels of hate for Barak Obama.

When will the mainstream admit that the right wing is a terror group?

When spinal transplants are covered by health insurance.

Treason

Republicans have, for the past twenty years, consistently been more loyal to The Party than to their country.

Thursday, October 1, 2009 08:20 PM

I'll believe Reid when it actually happens

This Senator has rolled over for even the slightest murmer from Republicans. I see no evidence that he is willing to develope some fortitude now.

Saturday, October 3, 2009 09:23 AM

Republicans always develop a soul...

AFTER they leave office.

Saturday, October 3, 2009 09:29 AM

Priorities

The problem is not chiefly that Obama went to Copenhagen, although I think there is something to criticize as I said earler: he's spent more time talking to the IOC than to the man he tasked with winning with what Obama himself said is the good, righteous war.

.

George W. Bush spend four entire days, not including travel, hanging with the jocks at the China Olympics in the midst of the US economic meltdown. And you Conservatives loved it.

But that was DIFFERENT, wasn't it?

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 04:18 AM

A primary threat to McCain

Unless he starts saying nice things about Sarah Palin, John McCain may not make it past the right-wing Republican fanatics (but I repeat myself) in the primaries.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 04:20 AM

Frist reverses himself

Rush Limbaugh must have called.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009 06:20 PM

Welcome to the club, Bob Dole...

Join

Christie Todd Whitman

Tom Ridge

Sandra Day O'Connor

and

Colin Powell

All loyal Republicans who only found their soul when it no longer mattered to America.

Does Mr. Greenwald actually believe that Democrats being "noble" will somehow change Republlicans?

In what alternate reality does he exist?

It is about time that Democrats started treating Republicans exactly the way we have been treated for more than two decades. If Republicans come back into power they will not ease up in their rhetoric one little bit, and hitting them back in kind is the ONLY method that has even a slight chance of ate least countering, if not curing, rightwing bullying.

Anything else is giving the country over to Limbaugh Legious reaty to take charge.

Sunday, October 11, 2009 09:34 PM

It's a contest

Among Rush Limbaugh, Gen Beck, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee to see who can make up the most illogical, outrageous and nonsensical story about Barak Obama and get Republicans everywhere to parrot it to the world.

So far, they all are winning.

Monday, October 12, 2009 05:43 AM

I still remember...

Sarah Palin running for VP of "Real America".

and

Republicans morphing pictures of triple war amputee Max Cleland into Osama bin Laden.

These are the people who, if we are "nice" to them will somehow change?

It's about time we started hitting back at the Republican slime who are continuing the same tactics as they attempt to get back in power: It is all they have known since Lee Atwater.

Hit us, we hit back. Good for the Democrats.

Now if they can only arrange a spinal transplant for Harry Reid...

Monday, October 12, 2009 05:50 AM

Massive....

Democrats may have a massive majority in Washington. What they don't have is massive.... "testicular fortitude" to stand up to Republican hate and smears.

When Republicans exploit this weakness to regain power, we will see how Democratic accomodation is reciprocated. (If you cannot detect the irony in that comment then you probably believe that Harry Reid actually posesses a spine.
