Stranding the troops.

Re: "If Bush chose to keep troops in Iraq without housing, feeding, and supplying them, American outrage would bring them home.

Unless you think that Bush would declare an emergency and demand dictatorial powers? If we have come to that, then things are much worse than I thought."

No. George W. Bush would do exactly that. And Republicans would begin a natinowide campaign declaring how much Democrats hated our troops.

And, in our America, it would work completely.

Chris matthews

When Chris Matthews, who spends most ofhis on air time auditioning for Foxnews, can't find fault with a speech, then you know it's a hit.

Fired up

If you can make up a bad story about Barak Obama while you are at it, then Sean Hannity will have you on FoxNews in a heartbeat. Use the phrase "Retreat in Iraq" and The Weekly Standard will make it a Trifecta.

Obedient

Joe Lieberman would anger the 700 Club wing of the party. But Republicans are obedient and, if James Dobson and Pat Robertson tell them to vote for McCain, they will 100% do as thry are told.

Besides, why should John McCain make the effort of adding Joe Lieberman to his ticket when he can still get 100% of the campaign benefit from that bitter old man anyway, just for cost of rides to campaign appearances on one of his wife's jets?

Hate

Democrats just don't do hate with the skill and joy that Republicans have. While we can be disgusted and angry, for pure, visceral hate you have to go to the Republicans.

Expect to see the venom flowing like a river through the Twin Cities next week.

Reember, this is the Bush Administration

After all the WMD stories, spin and lies from the Bush White House, does anyone, anywhere NOT beleive that these books aren't being cooked?

When Gustav hits

You can bet that the Bush White House will make sure that John McCain is included in every photo-op of relief being delivered.

Original article: John McCain's female card

Risk?

Selecting Palin is only a risk if John McCain is subject to the same level of microscopic examination as his opponent. It is unlikely that Senator McCain's Base will do the kind of critical examination on himthat theynever have before.

It is a very safe bet. Pundits everywhere will echo Republican talking points about Barak Obama's "thin resume", and never give five minutes to Sarah Palin's experience at all.

That is just how it is, and John McCain's barbecues are paying off.

Flash! Sun Rises in the East!

Are we supposed to be surprised by this breathless piece of news? James Dobson, like every single other member of the Christian Right are 100% Republicans, in return for 100% control of Republican policy.

That James Dobson was going to vote Republican was never in doubt. And never will be.

Ever.

Sunday, August 31, 2008 12:46 PM

Surprised?

There should be no surprise here. Aided by twenty years of indoctrination, 100% of Republicans now fully support the complete suspension of the Bill of Rights, except for the Second Amendment.

A media, composed mostly of sheep, will not report a word because that would mean they would be ostracized by the rest of their profession and excoriated by the political Right.

Freedom has become synonymous with "weak". And I do not see how this can be turned around, unless the Republican leadership suddenly developes a conscience.

Which means it's over.

Sorry.

Original article: Drill, baby, drill

Why aren't Democrats capitalizing on it?

Because, unlike the Republicans who control the "airwaves" and what goes out over them, Democrats are weak and disorganized.

Republicans can swing the entire national debate over one "lipstick" comment, while Democrats fail to get more than a two line, page 8 note that the Republicas want to hand over more drilling oversight to the same team who have been exposed as corrupd and incompetent, AGAIN.

We certainly cannot count on our lapdog media to report these kinds of things. Hillary Clinton had the guts to go after Republicans. If Barak Obama is turned into another Michael Dukakis we will be in for Rove's "generational dream".

I just do not know if the Democrats (generally) will have either the testicular fortitude or brains to overcome the Conservative media on this one. Nothing in their behavior over the last thirty yers has indicated such.

The "hunt" for Osama bin Laden

Within four years of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, every member of the Japanese command who directed the attacks was either dead or in US custody.

We are now seven years from the attacks of September 11, 2001. And our government has given up the hunt in all but lip service.

And shame on every Conservative who continues to present alibis for the Bush Administration for their failure in this regard.

More McCain campaign tactics

Had Hillary Clinton appeared with Sarah Palin at her side, we wold have been treated to the Republican spin machine declaring Hillary "endorsement" of Sarah.

I can picture Dick Morris pontificating away on FoxNews that "this is a message to the Hillary Democrats that it is OK to vote for Sarah".

And all those "PUMA's" blogging from the White House basement would be declaring "I'm a Hillary Democrat and I'm going to vote for Palin/McCain".

Good for Senator clinton for not falling into this Republican trap.

Too bad our somnamulent media reporters cannot pick up on that as well. Rush Limbaugh will likely put out the story that "Hillary is playing politics" and every single "Mainstream" reporter will repeat it, without a single thought.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 11:27 AM

The stonewalling continues

And will until after the elections in November.

The only question is to what lengths the mainstream media will go in order to NOT report sarah Palin's "only open-government when we want to" philosophy to the electorate.

My guess is that our reporters will stick to moose hunting and Sarah's impending grandmotherhood.

Thursday, September 18, 2008 07:56 AM

Flash!

The Republican Party is portraying Barak Obama as "Tax and Spend". And lying to do it.

Flash # 2!

The Pope is Catholic.

Flash # 3!

The media reporters will, without the slightest bit of analysis, repeat these charges, never checking a single "fact" cited: Thus assisting in convincing the American voter that the Republican charges are 100% true.

Flash #4!

Yes. The woods is exactly where the bear does it.
