If Obama 'stares down' the progressive side of the democratic party (I can't bear to capitalize it) over meaningful health care reform they should just split off from the democrats and become their own party. How about creating the Progressive Party? Why keep allegiance to a group that is so corrupt and in the pocket of big business that does nothing but fight against the interests of the people? They're just republicrats anyway.
I hope the comments area is going to get a redo. I wish there were relevant threads, so that I could skip over topics devolving into mush.
It's because the Republican agenda is an agenda of narcissism. Their own interests are more important than the interests of others, always. If it effects them, then it is important, otherwise who cares, it doesn't matter, let the people suffer outside of their sphere, and preferably in a place where they don't have to watch and think about it.
Disgusting but hardly surprising. I'm able to see through that PR crap. It's a shame most people don't.
Thank you for covering this important topic and the many complexities and difficult associations it presents for varying interest groups. It is a shame that women around the world can't have affordable access to contraception simply based on improving their well-being, but has to be tied to reducing global warming. I suppose in some way it would be some small progress instead of none.
My shopping experience at Ikea was much the same. I nearly had a panic attack and ended up running for the door, which was ridiculously hard to find. It amazes me that so many people shop there.
Have some compassion, this former child star tried to kill himself last Thanksgiving. You seemed to enjoy this poor man's misery and that is extremely distasteful. You might have your life figured out, but none of us can imagine the challenges faced by someone who became famous so young. I don't think I'll read anymore of your articles.
