Wake up people!

How is it that this extremely important article gets barely a whisper of feedback on Salon? There is no issue more important to the future of the Internet and freedom itself than net neutrality!

Original article: The GOP begins to implode

Poppycock

So if the Democrats don't stand for anything, what is all this...? http://www.democrats.org/agenda.html

What you are really saying is that unless the Democrats act like Republicans and talk in Fascist lockstep with 1 voice, 1 talking point list, 1 "Vision for America", they cannot win?

Original article: No to Israeli unilateralism

Warren Manthe's Post re: real estate

So Warren, tell me how far back claims of real estate should go? What is your arbitrary cutoff date?

As far as I can tell, it is an uncontested fact of history that the ancient Kingdom of Israel (and Judea, but irrelevent to the dicussion since it was also Jewish) was setup more or less where the modern State of Israel is currently.

Are you saying that the Arabs who lived in Palestine 70 years ago have a greater claim to the land?

Original article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily

Ed, what is your (small) point?

I don't get it, what is the point you are trying to make Ed?

Is either alchohol or nicotine a performance-enhancing drug? I don't think people would care at all if MLB players were using pot or cocaine (except for the PR and "children"/role-model issues) since they do not effect statistics. It is the fact that steroids/HGH are skewing the game that is what the real point is of all this.

Original article: The chosen few

Darn it!

Uhm, Salon forgot to secure my permission to publish this article. Can't be blamed for turning off the Christians, now can I?

Monday, October 23, 2006 07:22 PM

Oy!

Those idiots are idiots.

Original article: Space balls

GA v BSG

There is also the fact that Grey's Anatomy is the exact opposite of Battlestar Galactica in that it doesn't make you think at all... in the words of my fiance last night, GA is "brain jello" good for a watch before bedtime.

Any time I want to tease her about watching GA, I whip out the "code black, a bomb in the body" moment. Can TV get much worse than that?

Original article: Lost faith in the GOP

Btw

It wasn't any evangelicals that flipped that allowed the Democrats take Congress, it was the overwhelming percentage of Independents that did it.

Please do not give credit where credit is NOT due. The far religious right has no business expecting any "bipartisanship" out of Democrats, not after helping to ruin the country for 6 years while we yelled "WTF!!!".

Original article: Howard Dean, vindicated

Thank you

Thank you Howard! You are the reason I first gave a political donation (3, to your campaign of course), and you are also the reason I am a proud holder of a Democracy Bond.

Keep up the great work. And if you ever decide to run again for president, you have my vote!

Forget Doraville

Forget Doraville... drive about 7 miles up Peachtree (heh) Industrial into Duluth, GA. Duluth is as red as can be.

Escape

Sure, TV is an escape.. but does it have to be utterly rediculous too? ;)

Tuesday, November 14, 2006 07:50 PM
Original article: 40 states is plenty

No Name Given

To the shmuck without the courage to leave his own name, so what if Rhode Island and New Hampshire don't border eachother? It isn't stopping Gaza and the West Bank from eventually becoming the Palestinian state...

Wednesday, November 22, 2006 07:05 AM

Howard Dean

Where is Dean in your list? Did he not get a big boost from the election, just like Reid, Pelosi, etc?

One word:

Heroes!

Thursday, March 29, 2007 08:22 AM

Could it be?

Could this be the stupidest thing we have ever heard from a Bushie? I think it might... aren't all government employees fingerprinted when they are hired? And if not, why not?

Thursday, March 29, 2007 11:00 AM

Sense of humor

We do have a sense of humor joe... and that sense isn't picking up the sarcasm. Try again.

Friday, March 30, 2007 08:05 AM

I don't remember

When I was a kid, my grandfather would fine me $0.25 every time I said "I don't know". I think it is time that Congress fined/punished any Administration official any time they say "I don't remember".

Thursday, April 19, 2007 07:11 AM
Original article: Gonzales faces the music

Wait...

Can the Senate somehow revoke their advice and consent on an Executive nominee and get him fired? I don't think so...

Would be nice though, eh?

Thursday, April 19, 2007 07:14 AM
Original article: The way forward?

War and Peace

Obviously the Constitution gives Congress the authority to declare war (which in the case of Iraq never happened btw), but does it also give Congress authority to "declare peace"? How does one declare peace anyway? ;)

Friday, April 20, 2007 01:34 PM

Mr. Elephantman...

You do know that Gene Roddenberry is dead right?

Also, everyone knows dilithium crystals help facilitate a matter/anti-matter reaction to create energy... nothing to do with fission. Sheesh.

Friday, April 20, 2007 01:35 PM

RE: Mr. Elephanman

... or fusion as you specified in your letter. :P

Monday, April 23, 2007 06:45 AM
Original article: Not exactly Stephen Colbert

I never imagined...

... that Karl Rove would be so thin-skinned, did anyone else? I don't know what was said in the exchange, but how a couple environmentalists insult Rove so much he had to whine about it?

Monday, April 23, 2007 07:39 AM
Original article: Not exactly Stephen Colbert

Elephantman ...

What exactly is your point?

Thursday, April 26, 2007 08:11 AM
Original article: Government, politicized

Hmmm

Did anyone hear believe there was only that one meeting with the GSA?

Friday, April 27, 2007 11:55 AM

RealName

WTF does that mean, Magical Jews? You are going to blame the Jews for Iraq when it was some psycho Christian belief in the Rapture (and oil of course) as to why we are there?

Monday, April 30, 2007 09:24 PM

Hmm

I thought that was in John Grisham's "The Rainmaker".

Tuesday, May 1, 2007 06:57 AM

Conclusion

Bring back in the draft in the United States. It is the only way for everyone to feel the pain of war, not just the poor and minorities of this country.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007 06:37 AM
Original article: The president's veto

So the bill was vetoed...

... does that stop the Congress from sending him the same bill again, or one very similar with pull-out provisions?

Wednesday, May 2, 2007 08:47 AM

Prince

Funny how Mansfield doesn't use the more obvious term for one-man monarchial rule, king. I guess he could be referring to Machiavelli, but if Mansfield was really being honest he would call what he is describing a king (monarch at least).

Is it because the word king would stir the dumb people of America out of their stupor and make them realize what is going on?

Thursday, May 3, 2007 07:31 AM

The Post

Isn't the Washington Post owned by Rupert Murdoch now, or am I finally losing my mind?

Friday, May 4, 2007 06:24 AM

I say

LET Tony Snow twist words, use whatever definition he sees fit to use for whatever words he spews.

The problem is that the press goes along with it! If the White House Press Corp wasn't a bunch of stenographers this would not be a problem, instead it would show how deceiptful the White House really is.
