a unique feature gone!

The recommended free download feature this column provided was something that made Salon stand apart from many other music sections on the internet. I hope you have the good marketing sense to bring back another incarnation of Audiofile sooner rather than later. Until then, I won't be around as frequently.

Let the law take its due course

Per Ms. Soderberg: "the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded that the administration's written requests and directives indicated that such assistance "had been authorized by the president" and that the "activities had been determined to be lawful."

If this is the telecoms' argument, let a court of law decide if there was intent to commit a crime or not and if in fact a crime was commited under the circumstances. For all we know, they might win a favorable decision.
