Somebody might want to let the LA district attorney know.

see article at sig.

Cheney needs to be protected from the Daily show

This is too funny except for the fact that Obama DOJ lawyers are the ones arguing it. Link at sig.

Mike Sulzer

Very interesting information. I'm wondering how it translates into action. Do most of those people have any idea they could be detained without charges? Would that matter? Don't get me wrong, I think it's hopeful there are significant numbers of people that feel that way, I just don't know where it gets us. Seems the government has made a habit of ignoring the "will" of the people. Probably because they know they can get away with it.

Drip, drip, drip...

can we call it the "unitary executive" yet? I think the problem here is that Obama and his team know that only a fairly small percentage of people follow these issues and can be easily disregarded. I imagine a lot of people are just worried about having a job at this point.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 08:48 AM

But, but scary brown people.....

they're coming to get us. He's just trying to keep us safe. Right? What about the meteors? I want action on protection from meteors since you are more likely to be killed by one than by a terrorist.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009 08:22 AM

OT but important

Obama blocks access to WH visitor logs. This whole "transparency" thing is going down the shitter. WTF? Story at sig.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009 12:26 PM

Farragutless

You can crawl back under your bed and crap your pants now. Oooh scary brown people on the loose.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009 10:42 AM

I'm personally waiting for the meteor to hit me.

Because of course that is more likely than being killed by a "terrorist." Maybe I'll play the lottery, the odds are probably better.

Omar

You got NOBBY right in the nuts. Beautiful.

I really want to believe in Obama as well. However, the things he is saying and doing lead me in another direction. I'll reserve my final judgment until election day 2012 but at this point I'm not particularly hopeful.

Friday, May 22, 2009 09:28 AM

wbgonne

You really are off the rails. You so desperately want to believe that Obama is good and gracious that you can't even hear the words that he spoke. You remind me of the Kevin Bacon character in Animal House who is running around screaming "All is well" while mayhem ensues. Good luck with that.

Friday, May 22, 2009 07:45 AM

Is there an exclusion for so called "American Citizens?"

Yeah, I didn't see one either. So basically American citizens can be "indefinitely detained" if decreed to be "too dangerous." Remind me again who makes the decree? Oh right, the King....er I mean President. Anyone been watching the Tudors? King Henry the 8th all over again. Great.

The "troops" are already in danger

That is their frickin' job. By releasing pictures, somehow this will magically put them in more danger? Bullshit.

Original article: Let war crimes be bygones

I'm very sad for you.

I think the the part to focus on here is "crimes." If I rob a bank I don't think they are going to let bygones be bygones. Do you?

Friday, April 24, 2009 09:07 AM

Omar

Who you calling out of line buddy? Don't make me come over there wherever there is located. Because I will, really. OK, not really. But I have to admit calling him that name was a way of expressing my exasperation. I should just stop replying probably. Point taken.

Friday, April 24, 2009 08:48 AM

Wrong again Shooter.

I would push for prosecution of whoever violates the law. Unlike Republicans who thing it's only illegal if Democrats do it. Classic! As for name calling, if the moniker fits....

Friday, April 24, 2009 08:00 AM

Shooter

It's still about the law dickhead. Why do you have such disregard for the law?

Thursday, April 23, 2009 06:39 AM

Shooter

It's not "unpopular opinions" it's the law. Remember that? It started getting seriously disregarded about.....2001. What a coincidence. Say, where you been hidin'? Trollin' elsewhere with your nonsensical comments I guess.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 12:32 PM

Hey Groeny

When are you going to stop repressing your sexuality and just come out of the closet? Just do it already. I'm betting you'll like it. ALOT!

At least with Herpes you might get a kiss before being screwed.

" In his NBS newscast" Perfect!

National Bullshit News I think fits perfectly well there. Bravo!

Monday, April 20, 2009 01:38 PM

These are not the droids you are looking for.

Damned Jedi mind tricks! Nobody told me Obama was Jedi too. Seriously though how the hell does this happen? It really is like they've been programmed. Scary shit.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 08:15 AM

Lysias

Very Tinfoilyish! I like it though! You ever see that show connections on PBS? Maybe no one has made the connections yet.

Friday, April 3, 2009 01:03 PM
Original article: The end of "ER"

ER jumped the shark 5 or 6 years ago

It was a great show for awhile. At first I liked it for the medicine then just for the character drama. RIP.

Wrong again NOB

See article at sig. Oh right, can't trust that Nobel prize winning economist can we because he's a fucking "liberal" right?

Wednesday, April 1, 2009 12:28 PM

NOB, are you high?

The deficits under Reagan were huge. Get a clue and see link at sig.

Friday, January 16, 2009 07:22 AM

Shooter- What Hamas faction?

Is that the only way you know how to argue, by demonizing the other side? That's just fucking lame.

War as a spectator sport

This article is pretty saddening. Although I guess this is just an extension of watching wars on CNN. Link at sig.

Thursday, January 8, 2009 08:23 AM
Original article: America then and now

Jackson also discusses the principal of universality.

In sentencing the nazi criminals to death he states "if certain acts of violations of treaties are crimes, they are crimes whether the United States does them or whether Germany does them....to pass these defendants a poisoned chalice is to put it to our own lips as well." Eloquent. However, the wording of the "crimes" was crafted to exclude war crimes clearly committed by the US and it's allies. Admiral Doenitz successfully used the argument that we had done it too and therefore were not crimes. He was acquitted on many of the charges. History is fun! Too bad nobody can remember it.

Otherwise these trolls seem to be breeding like.....

Tuesday, January 6, 2009 01:54 PM

Oh Chris and PDA, you make me laugh!

Out loud even. Let's see, I served in the Air Force during Grenada so does that qualify me to speak? Probably not. Hmmmph.
