  • am I crazy or has...

[Read the article: Only the GOP can save us]

the tide really, really turned against this prez and possibly the GOP? When Garrison K writes 2 articles within a month on Bush The Lessor, its gotta be a Kronkite-esque moment. I read all his articles and it could be on anything and often is. I'm not surprised as this article is in-character. Its just a feeling I'm getting that other folks who haven't gotten it are really really starting to get it. Really. Thanks GK and keep them coming.

  • Leopold..

My wife and I were away for the weekend and came back catching up with the news. The "Rove Indictment" came up and she found a post saying he had been indicted. My usual stops are War Room, Talking Points Memo, Kos, Next Hurrah and Liberal Oasis. If it ain't there - it ain't true or its suspect. She sent me a link to Truthout with the post in question. Didn't know the site nor the author, but boy do I now! I really appreciate War Room more than ever. I never read a post so "on" and dovetail into a conversation I was having with myself and others. Great job guys and keep on keepin' on.

  • Sorry, but I have to follow up...

Not about Leopold per se, but the idea of WR and Tim taking a stance.

As a consumer of the blogs mentioned in my prior post, I must say that on any given day, I might read the same nugget in 3 of 5 sites - each politely acknowledging the source etc. You all know this as well. I'm sure you'll notice that for example Liberal Oasis will stay on a particular topic for several days like recently the Iran conflict. TPM seems to have the Abramoff cum Cunningham cum CIA shakeup connection going. And so on. None really mention the Rove stuff because others have and its not necessary. Kos is less intimate. WR is intimate and nuanced and frankly, from my standpoint, none of the big players was really taking a stand on this issue which is perfectly ok. A void was addressed and speaking for those who really needed an explanation as what exactly was going on - I got it in this post. I'm wondering where else the Leopold topic was addressed to lead one to think this was a worn out topic. Forgive me if it was a tired story - I read this and felt no need to seek clarification. That is good writing and sometimes it takes an extra paragraph or two.

  • I hear ya...

    [Read the article: Oh, Daddy!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

big fan of KK BTW... anyhoo,

    1) there simply are no books for dads - I've looked

    2) i have a 17mon old and one on the way who I'm convinced will be a girl

    3) there are no books for dads with girls - I have not looked real hard

    4) we are not burdened with books for Dads.

Nothing against the author of the book in question, i'm sure he's got it down. But as a guy, I'm thinkin' "just give me the facts" and I don't need or want a gender-based book on parenthood.

  • I love this guy...

    Bill really is funny:

Now, of course, you're gonna say, "But Bill, ridiculing Bush is like shooting fish in a barrel," or, as Dick Cheney calls it, "hunting."

    That is good stuff.

  • Not again...

    [Read the article: Camille's back!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Ok, I always look forward to reading for some reason, and its been a while...but the last time she wrote for Salon (I think) she kissed Hannity's as far too much. Ok Camille, you listen to radio and only right-wingers get you off. Please don't share that will this audience again. Us Salon fans will read you because you're there...make it worth OUR while and we'll make it worth yours.

  • I remember when...

[Read the article: No wonder they called him Turd Blossom]

I just looked up Sydney Blumenthals article last year of the Bush/Rove visit to the Clinton Library. What pricks they were then and now:

"Offstage, beforehand, Rove and Bush had had their library tours. According to two eyewitnesses, Rove had shown keen interest in everything he saw, and asked questions, including about costs, obviously thinking about a future Bush library and legacy. "You're not such a scary guy," joked his tour guide. "Yes, I am," Rove replied. Walking away, he muttered deliberately and loudly, "I change Constitutions, I put churches in schools ..." Thus he identified himself as more than the ruthless campaign tactician -- as the invisible hand of power, pervasive and expansive, designing to alter the fundamental American compact."

It is satisfying to see him leave as a complete failure isn't it? Please reread this gem - its actually enjoyable now:

  • Blah blah blah Part II

[Read the article: Pit bulls are innocent]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It is the breed folks - what kind of human and what kind of dog. I don't know if the writer or any of the pro-pit folks have young children - I suspect not. If you did, you would feel differently if a pitbull lived behind you as we have. Our neighbors delinqent son brings home girls with dogs and the dogs stay. They have a chihuahua and a pit. The chihuahua has scarred the face of their middle son aged 13. The pit is a puppy still but who knows what that dog would do.

I know this - if the chihuahua attacks my nine month old or my 3 year old. I know I can pull the dog off and I know they won't die. That is not the case with a pit. I would feel the same if it was a rottie or a doberman. The owners are assholes for not thinking of our 2 kids and the 7 other kids immediately around them. If you want streetcred - ride a motorcycle and get a tattoo for christsake! I'm sick of this crap.

  • Clarification please!

Do you really run 10 miles a day? I believe everything you say Mr. Keillor, but you live in MN.
