@The Notorious W.E.S. WTF?

So you presume Senator Clinton is currently mulling over her options for self destruction?

Do you actually think Senator Clinton could win the nomination in 2012 without hole heartedly endorsing Senator Obama in 2008?

It's an interesting notion, especially with regard to the alleged sexism of Senator Obama supporters, that Senator Clinton's supporters seem more interested in an Obama loss than a Clinton win at this point.

I wonder who might have the real closet prejudices they should deal with?

I actually have a slightly higher opinion of Senator Clinton than you appearantly. Although I think she is not the best person to occupy the oval office, I think she does what she does out of a real commitment to her ideals, and understands that baring herself, Senator Obama is the best option to have those ideals realized by the government.

So, no, I think that upon Senator Obama's nomination, Senator Clinton will put aside her previous attacks and declare Senator Obama a tested deserving candidate for the nomination, perhaps even making light of her previous activities "He has weathered the worst, and know can lead us to the best" for example.

She may secretly hope he loses so that she can make a run in 2012, but those feelings will be supressed for the good of the nation, just as she has done with many other feelings, no doubt, over the years.

@kalyarn - It's a competition?

That I might lose, implies some sort of test.

Are we here on the comix page now hartilly competeing for some grand title? Perhaps Bestest Funny Paper Understander?

I guess I'm just not up to the mental steel of the other folks here.

Such is, as is.

@Glennski, don't take your guns to town

Yes, well I wasn't planning on gunning in general. That I am outgunned is just the way of the internet I suppose.

I do love Mr. Bolling's work, however. Even if he does steal from the Great Gary Larsen.

Whatever makes you happy

I don't know...not much to get worked up over...it's a weak attempt, but an attempt at least to explain a very complex concept to children.

Perfectly adult, intelegent, feminist women (and men too) get plastic surgery all the time. It is not in and of itself a sign of weakness, though it is perhaps shallow, but no more than a tattoo or a new pair of shoes (though obviously a little more expensive, depending on the shoes).

So this women, decides she wants to look better, and she wants her duaghter to understand.

This Doctor's ham handed book probably isn't the best option, but the idea itself isn't something to get upset about.

Perhaps we if look at plastic surgery as just one more choice a person makes in life, and not assume that it is simply the domain of the vain and shallow, then maybe we can come closer to taking everyone seriously as equals and break people up in worthy and unworthy catagories.

@Bitter Scribe

I'm a tiresome time waster?

Said the person posting to a message board concerning a comic strip in the middle of the work day.

Wow, things got pretty dark around here...

You know it's something I wonder...not that I am a conspiracy minded sort...but how many of these Rabid Clinton or Obama supporters who speak so ill of their opposition are true supporters of either Senator, and are just troll looking to make waves for their ammusement and agrandizment?

Any way, Joan Walsh was on Hardball tonight, I just caught it, and she made an interesting point that I think puts a slightly different spin on everything.

She points out that everytime Hillary brings up one of the faux Obama Controversies, it reduces it's impact a little. So that by the time McCain drags it all out, people will say been there done that.

Although I'm not 100% convinced that Senator Clinton's actions are harmless, I am inclined to think that there might be some truth to this notion.

Think about how hard it really is to dredge up all of Clintons very real, very disturbing controversies from her or her husbands past. It's not that these things are irrelevant, it's just that people have gotten tired of hearing it all over and over again. It's doesn't help Clinton that we all know her past, but it's not letting anyone hurt her worse either.

Now granted it took 16 years for us all to tire of the Clinton's scandels and Senator Clinton's swipes as Senator Obama are much fresher. But still, when Senator Obama survives them, and wins the nomination, perhaps even wins Pennsylvania, perhaps we'll all say, we've heard it before when McCain tries to bring it up fresh.

Hey Berk, don't know if you read the letter page...

But is there any chance we could hear form Cutter John on the state of the world at war any time in the near future?

Just curious, feelin' nostalgic, and hey if you read these letters, I'd love to see the old captain.

Perhaps if Opus runs on the Meadow Party Ticket, Cutter John could be a member of Enterpoop Veterans for Truth.

A little off topic...

But I remeber back when Bush was swiftboating McCain a story came out that while being tortured by the Vietcong McCain divuldged classified information.

This was repeated, never formally debunked, and then forgotten about.

Is this a place to turn 527's in the future?

Cue somber music.

"Senator Obama does not support the harsh interogation techniques of known Al Queda Terrorists."

"Senator Obama says torture doesn't work."

"Why does John McCain Support Torture, because he knows it works! And the protection of American Lives, at any cost, is important to John McCain."

Just a thought.
