Humans in the wild, like all animals populate at rates necessary to maintain their genetic diversity. Each individual animal will move out of territory that is over populated and attempt to maintain their genetic diversity in what ever nitch they can find.
The only thing that has ever been shown to limit the fecundity of animals is domestication. Limiting mating opportunities and selective breeding results in breeding simply to maintain the population. Once an animal is domesticated competition and thusly fecundity is controlled.
Human domestication (living in cooperative city environments) uniformly leads to an overall reduction in human population.
If we seek preservation of "wild areas" the only certain method to acheive this without massive war, opression, and genocide is through mass modernization and industrialization of the people of the world.
Once individual human life is ensured with shared longevity the need for competition drops, and thusly the need for overpopulation to ensure survival disapears. The poor need multiple children to ensure their genes are carried forth, the rich (see working class industrialized domesticated humans), certain that their children are desirable enough have limited need for extra.
Those funny monkeys so wraped up in their own selfimportance as to forget they just another poo flinger on the tree.
Man is successful, and many species live in comunion and symbiosis with him.
An esthetic opinion colors this love of the wild, that the rat is less than the gopher, that the coyote is less than the wolf, the seagul is less than albatross, that the pigeon is less than bluebird.
Species die because they cannot find a way to live. They died before man, and they will continue to die regardless of man's movements throughout the world.
That one or another rare and unique species is a marvel to view is purely the selfishness of man seeking to disrupt nature for its own amusement.
Nature dictates that a monkey will rise and bind sticks and stones and unlock the genetic code. Why do people fear what nature has wroght? It is only because we wish to keep lions on display that we seek to save them. Let the old beast die as they lived far longer than they were ever ment to.
There is no wild, simply the places man chooses not to live. The only truly wild species left are those that live in opposition to man. The rat, the roach, the pigeon, the ant, the beasts who make their way surviving because they are the most fit to do so. That is the wilderness not the secured and hermetically sealed environment of Yellow Stone.
Yellow Stone in a museam, beautiful and filled with wonders, but it is not the wild. The wild is between the cracks in the sidewalk where grass grows in defiance of man's will.
Presuming you weren't being sarcastic, feel free to quote me. =o)

Was that you can't get up in arms about how person X gets to do this and say that with impunity while I can't unless you are willing to aknowledge all of the things you get way with for being person Z.
As such, a black person is granted the right to speak first hand of the opression of her people, and us the N word as a social identifier within her group.
By contrast a white person gets to not be black.
If you want the right to say and do like those people do you might want to ask what they had to go through to get this special dispensation, and are you willing to go through the same struggles (and not your grand parents, but you) to enjoy the same privledge.
As a white guy, you're ancestor might have been opressed because of his birth nation, religion, or ideology. But now, you're not. African Americans born today may not deal with slavery and systemized racism, but widespread personal racism is still something they must endure without recourse.
If you want to be a proud Nigger, you must forgoe all the things that being a Cracker grants you.
