Ever since, Barrack Obama gave the Keynote Address at the last Democratic convention, the medial anointed him as the next President.
In contrast to the Media overlooking any faults Obama may have and he does have faults, they have continually attacked and found fault with Hillary Clinton. Compare the number of missed votes in 2007 by both candidates.
I am just flabbergasted at the Media's dislike of Hillary Clinton who is an outstanding dedicated Senator, an extremely intelligent individual and an unusual woman. Ah, maybe that's it. She is a woman. How dare she be so ambitious and determined to be President.
I have watched and listened to all the debates and the newsmaker interviews with the candidates have found Barrack Obama to lack substance as a candidate especially on his one to one interviews.
For some reason members of the Media have decided to become "kingmakers" and have chosen their king.
Their glee last night and today at Hillary's 3rd place finish disgusts me. The worst in this category are Chris Matthews who continually has Andrea Mitchell on his program and many of his chosen pundits who love to attack Hillary and Mr Cafferty from the Caffertyfile whom I find nasty spirited and unlikable.
I have been a long time Liberal Democrat from the days of FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt, but may not vote as a Democrat this time because of the Media's control of the process.
They have made Iowa more important than any other state in the Union. This I resent.
Sincerely,
Arroyocat
Barack Obama's "Big Mo" was really started by the media pundits such as Chris Matthews and his group of commentators and CNN's talking heads.
Some are comparing Obama to JFK & FDR, but not I. He is no doubt a great speaker when there is a crowd. However, I don't see the experience or the substance to make change.
Edwards does have the experience and substance to make change, but he should not have been so negative in the debates.
As to Edwards beating Hilllary, she never thought she could do that well in Iowa.
However, my main concern is the way Iowa has become the force to determine who will be the President of the United States. This is just not right or fair, but since when has politics been fair and right.
It is so amazing that those who agree with Jesse so often sign their name as anonymous.
Anything Jess Jackson says should be taken with an once of common sense. Barack Obama would be best served by not having Jesse Jackson as his spokesman.
The question of tears or no tears is so trivial and unimportant in the scheme of life. At least, we know Hillary has emotions something she is has been accused of not having.
So far, it seems as if Obama has been given a free ride by the Media. We have had our share of several teflon Presidents, and now we have the teflon candidate.
In the debates, Hillary has been more successful than Barack. That's how I will make my decision.
Joe Canason said exactly what I have been thinking for months.
The news media that was gleefully bashing Hillary before and after the Iowa results have been unbelievably mean spirited and cruel. The leader of the pack is Chris Matthews and his pundits on Hardball.
When a person is asked for specific examples why Hillary is so terrible, they don't have any answer except that she is overly ambitious, dishonest and too unfeeling. These are words that can be used for many politicians and the political media.
In addition, these same pundits have fawned over Barack Obama without questioning his voting record and his campaign. He is the teflon candidate of the season.
Thank you
I believe Roseanne apologized later and said that she should just keep her mouth shut.
However, we all know she is outspoken and doesn't think too clearly at times.
Just a comment about Ms. Winfrey. It has been said before she is probably a Republican. Remember she gave George W. Bush a big push on her program when he was running.
Celebrities should stay out of politics unless they have some background in the field especially in the Primaries period.
Please, it is not necessary to used profanity on line. It serves no purpose other than to show your ignorance and crudeness.
After reading the article which I thought was insightful, and reading the first few responses, it is obvious that there are too many spiteful people who will not vote for a woman because of ignorance and fear.
I am so tired of the dishonest reporting by the media and the blogs.
The contest has become rougher because the Media adds a dry wind to the raging fires with little substance and takes the comments out of context.
Barack Obama's campaign trust also fuels the fire because they want and need the "Black vote."
In addition, Hillary's campaign managers should control unnecessary comments made by other people if that is possible.
Neither camp is innocent. but many want you to believe that everything we hear from Barack
Obama is Gospel truth. When he is in a black southern church, he certainly becomes more black than usual.
Dear Claire,
If you had been following the Michigan situation, you would have know that the Democratic Party election committee was urging the Michigan Democrats to vote Uncommitted rather than for a person. Taking this into consideration her numbers were high in an election where no delegates would be seated.
The entire election process is in disarray. The Governor of Michigan was upset that the Federal Government has not been helpful in the aiding the failing economy of Michigan. To punish Michigan for having an early primary was not the way to go.
The Media needs to be defeated and humbled for their atrocious behavior in trying to control the Primaries by being selective in the way they present the news.
