1040

Hey, Silverslipper, I need the tax deductions. Are you younger than 40? Can I claim your eggies for 2009? I will split the proceeds with you down the middle. Ok, so the Solomon allusion is not what I was going for but I kinda' like it so it stays. Oh! And turtle eggs are delish! Well worth the fine and prison if I get caught. I especially like them in a breakfast burrito. Yummmy.

welfare mothers and cadillacs

This whole "debate" reminds me of the canard that all welfare mothers are cheats and drive a Cadillac. Or the Puritan: "A man whose greatest fear is that someone somewhere might be having a good time". Are you modern day housing Puritans pissed off because some poor sap might catch a break?

I am a RENTER, by the way, which puts me in a different category of loser by all you smug and superior types out there that had the foresight to lock-in a 30 year fixed rate at 5% and your payment is less than 31% of your income. Good on ya'. Now, is the only way to make you happy is for other's to be punished for what you call greed and stupidity?

Get over it, you resentful losers and be thankful that you had the good fortune not to be caught up in this horrible housing black hole. Geez.

lunatics still control significant organs of power

The wing nuts are all either mentally ill or those that control them, are in it for money and power (which doesn't mean they aren't mentally ill: just look at Rush the Viagra-Oxycontin quaffin'-boy-chasin'in Costa Rica Fatbo, Coulter the tranny, Hannity the Nancy Boy, etc et. al.)

They are so ill that they make the shit up as they go along and change their story as soon as they are confronted with evidence of their ignorance.

How about turning Idaho into a giant reeducation camp? And yes, I write that aware of all the historical inferences a reasonably educated person can draw.

Brooks is a mediocrity, posing as an asshole

Brooks is a rat, leaving a sinking ship. As someone else noticed, Brooks said: "They may not like the way the Democrats have passed the stimulus bill".

Oh yeah, asshole? Lying again, I see? Maybe the GOP doesn't like the way the stimulus bill passed but they are the fucking minority party and the majority of Americans approve of the stimulus. Brooks sees the continents shifting and he's trying to ingratiate himself with the Democrats so he doesn't get marginalized and not invited to parties.

incurable BDS

Too bad there is no cure for Shooter's ED. Oh wait, there are many available. Take heart laddy buck, there's hope for your ED, but alas, nothing available for willful ignorance.

speaking as a mackerel snapper

RC's are truly nuts about this issue. My parish no longer receives a penny from me. The hypocrisy is truly staggering: forbid John Kerry from receiving communion because of his stance on abortion but don't even mention Rudy Giuliani. Molest little boys and when someone comes forward, move the pederast to another city. Protect the molester at all costs! Tell us supplicants from the pulpit to vote Republican! Keep your tax free status and open up your wallets and keep on tithing. Yeah, right.

Comedy or Asshole-ness

Comedy or Punditry

Just because a lot [angry white uneducated males] watch [Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly] instead of the actual news am I supposed to believe that [Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly] (or his writing staff/production department) has something valuable to say? I keep reading about how the republicans are taking cheap shots at Obama without offering any constructive ideas. Isn't that [Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly] in a nutshell?

Beyond chutzpah

What kind of country is this? The credit card companies successfully block reform efforts and make it difficult-next-to-impossible to discharge credit card debt in bankruptcy. Then, the big credit card companies go out and get billions of dollars in TARP bailout funds. Then, JP Morgan Chase (a major credit card company and recipient of billions of dollars in TARP bailout dollars), turns around and jacks up the interest rate on credit cards. For example: I went from 11.9% to 22.99% in February. Chase sent notice to me via US Mail--never mind that I was receiving all statements and communications online via email-- and buried in the ads and other sundry crap, was notice that they were almost doubling my interest rate to 22%. They did not send me the notice electronically. And I had until 12/30/08 to respond-- I could close my account and keep it at the current rate or keep it open and enjoy all the benefits of being a Chase card holder at the usury rate of 22.99%. I called Chase in January and they were downright rude and surly. I tried to close my account but they said it would be at 22.99% if I closed it. When I asked why--after never being late on a payment and always paying more than the minimum-- they raised my rate, the answer was an evasive, "because we can".

So: Chase gets TARP monies; they double the interest rate on my account; then they set up a Potemkin Village of a web site to provide troubled card holders "help".

Fuck 'em all.

I transferred my balance to a local bank. But I am lucky as many people don't have that option.
