Sarah Palin is the adult version of Mandy Moore's chaaracter, Hilary Faye, from "Saved!".
With all due respect, when is Barack Obama, and the entire Democratic Party, going to start reminding people in detail that the Republican controlled Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government brought the following to the United States?
1. The Iraq War
2. The alleged Hurricane Katrina response, which basically made the US look like a third world country
3. All time high gas prices
4. All time high foreclosure rates
5. Rising inflation and unemployment
As usual, there is no consistent theme emerging from the Democratic Party Convention. The theme should be "Look at the Republican Party Record. How can the country afford to re-hire these guys based upon the past 8 years." The gloves need to come off, and Obama needs to realize he is in a street fight, not a college debate, with the Republican Party
The USA has elected 43 White Christian Men in a row to run the country. 43-0. The biggest derivation from the historical norm is that the country accepted a Catholic rather than a Protestant to be President in 1960, and it is still questionable whether John Kennedy legitimately won the Presidency in 1960.
At any rate, Barack Obama is going up against a history that indicates he is not what Americans want in a president. Obama may be a Christian, but he is not white. I have spoken to many people who have voted Democrat their entire life that find the idea of an African American President apalling. And these are people who consider themselves liberal. This country obviously has not proegressed as much as we like to believe.
I believe John mcCain is going win in November, moving the White Christan Male Presidential winning streak to 44 in a row.
Are Democratic Party Superdelegates required to cast a vote for Obama or Clinton? Can a Democratic party Superdelegate simply abstain from voting at the Democratic Party convention in the Fall in an attempt to avoid offending voters/candidates
I just wears me out that the entire world grinds to a halt for a holiday I do not celebrate or recognize.
I essentially opt out of the whole holiday season. I give limited presents and expect nothing from anybody. This year, I will be spending Cristmas Eve at the Chinese Restaurant with my wife, daugter and mother. On Christmas Day, my wife and I will be in Atlantic City playing blackjack, poker and roulette with the other, mostly asian "non-believers". In the past, my wife and I took a three or four day trip to a secluded inn that provided Christmas dinner and, more importantly, eliminated the stress associated with "having to celebrate" a holiday I do not even recognize.
