One of the few ...
[Read the article: Profiles in Journalism]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]At least we know the Pulitzers reward real reporting ... if they keep their senses ... Josh Marshall will win next year

Let them eat cake ..
[Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Which is exactly what the MSM thinks of the "little people". Most don't care that they aren't doing their job. They enjoy the high life too much. Why do you think people like Seymour Hersh refuse to go to these stupid parties? You can't be friends with people you report on.

Klein is a fraud ...
[Read the article: Improvement in Iraq: Trust Joe Klein and his secret sources]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Has anyone seen some of the comments about Shrum's book yet? Shrum claims that he and Kerry were taking advice from Klein, yet Klein continued to write about Kerry for Time. I guess Klein doesn't care for conflicts of interest.

Time and Luce
[Read the article: Improvement in Iraq: Trust Joe Klein and his secret sources]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]had_enough,
Time has been a right wing rag ever since Luce founded it.

Die Hard ..
[Read the article: Fred Thompson, "tough guy" and "folksy cultural conservative"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Can opposing candidates use bits of movies for their commercials? All MCcain has to do is remind people of Thompson in this movie. I don't see what Tweety and The Big Pumpkin see in people like Thompson. My impression is of a lazy, absent father type figure. I don't know exactly where they get this manly man type thing, but then Tweety and TBP aren't exactly sane.

Of all people ... U2 had it right ...
[Read the article: Al-Qaida does it, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]on the liner notes that come with their Live in Boston DVD .. as it progress through the pages .. there is a word or 2 a page that, put together, say "Don't become a monster in order to defeat a monster" .. or something similar .. it is obviously something Bush & Co. never learned
-
I didn't see it ...
[Read the article: Joe Lieberman, warmongering centrist]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]but did the host call him on it? Does The Big Pumpkin or Tweety or any of the other talking heads even ask probing questions? Do they let HoJo and the rest of the band of idiots get away with this nonsense? Or are they deathly afraid of making HoJo look like the idiot fool he is? When Joe Klein cries about how mean bloggers are to him, he should be glad he isn't a Sunday morning show talking head. We are a lot meaner to Tweety and The Big Pumpkin then we are to him, so he should count his lucky stars.

In my best Clint Eastwood voice(60's westerns that is) ..
[Read the article: Joe Klein's stirring defense of Lewis Libby]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Robert1014,
Bravo!! I.F. Stone has it exactly right. Guys like Broder and Klein would never understand it. Besides, sucking up to the powerful is what made them rich. Truth be told, Klein has gone off the rails between writing the Woody Guthrie bio and now. It is hard to believe they are the same guy. "Bound for Glory and Swampland. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde.

DCLaw1 ...
[Read the article: Face of a psychopath]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]when you think about it .. Mahmoud has a lot in common with King George .. the Iranian people are not anti-American ... the country is led by an out of touch group of theocrats .. some might say the same here .. both Mahmoud and King George spout crazy talk alot .. why the media won't talk about any of this ... I don't know .. heck .. even Iranian dissidents have warned his Smirkness not to bomb Iran .. because they know that doing so will only consolidate the power of the mullahs .. that the Iranian people will back their leaders in the time of a crisis(even though .. like here .. they despise those leaders)

Kinda OT ...
[Read the article: Notes on "A Tragic Legacy"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Has anyone seen the op-ed in the WSJ today? The one by a Dorothy Rabinowitz, where she equates Fitzmas with Mike Nifong? And trashes Judge Walton to boot?
Lynx,
You are right. I believe the photo during the G-8 summit. Bush was supposedly drinking a non-alcoholic beer. Check out these links

Congrats!!
[Read the article: Blogs and the establishment media]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]On making it to the top of Amazon's best seller list. You are right about MSM. I think one part you didn't mention(especially as it relates to the DC crowd), is that they don't want to lose their access to the "cool" parties. They love the doors that are opened for them now that they get to hang out with the so called movers and shakers. I have to think it's gone to the head of people like Matthews and Russert. They've become cheerleaders instead of remaining news people. And they've become so rich, they really don't know what "the little people" are like, or what they think(despite what "Dean" Broder thinks). I mean, does Broder really talk to the waitress in Iowa that works the overnight shift in Denny's? I don't think so. When is the last time Broder, Klein, Friedman, or any of their brethern ever talked and listened to any DFH's? And I don't mean the Tom Hayden(who was on Colbert the other night) types. I mean the DFH's that are just turning 40 now. Do Klein, Friedman or Broder know that if it was up to the lefty blogosphere(especially reader at DailyKos) that Russ Feingold would be the next president?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Geez .... Glenn's book only came out yesterday ... isn't he allowed to pimp his book .. on his blog .. the week of its release? Also .. many of us read Glenn's blog religiously .. every day .. given that ... it's highly likely that we'd be interested in any books he might write .. I know I am .. besides ... there is enough right wing crap published as it is .. we need a better balance in this country .. and supporting a book like Glenn's is a good start

Michael Ware .. of CNN
[Read the article: Michael Gordon trains his stenographer weapons on Iran]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]seemed to be saying the same as Gordon .. he was on yesterday/last night .. claiming that a top ranking Hezbollah official was captured in Iraq .. and that he had links to the Quds force in Iran
