How can someone look at the facts for this long and just not get it?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Condi Rice has a university degree. She obviously reads and can construct sentences, unlike her boss, yet a bad idea gotten worse, with thousands of people dying, and there she is chanting the "things are going to get better" nonsense.
Some of us wonder how long it takes people to realize crap is crap. Some of wonder why the American people were/are so slow to figure out this is a stupid, unnecessary war. When someone in your immediate family is going to be in danger, THEN you get a Mathew Dowd moment.
Around the world people think Americans are exemplified by Bush.
Nothing could be worse. And it is probably accurate...

The American electorate would vote for Barney (the purple dinosaur-Not the dangerous homosexual congressman)just because he is having such a good time. You can't deny the success rate Bush had with absolutlely nothing rational to say. McCain is just the only candidate brave enough to use the "Bush Formula" unless Cheney decides to run.

The evidence of twisting the truth, and unwarranted conclusions, could only, reasonably be symptoms of an agenda that has not been explained to the electorate. Our first handicapped President-and it is obvious he lies to the country. The issues raised in the 2000 election, are a symptom of failed democracy. The election of Chavez in Venezuela, was closely monitored and verified. The election of Bush, teaches us there are strategies for ending democracy in the USA, and these strategies work.
To not see this election as a sign of failure, destruction, and collapse, means you need to read Jared Diamond's book.

Why did the USA attack and occupy Iraq? Who made the decision and When?
A long held notion in the USA is that the country is immune to the poor performance of the President. "A trained ape could hold office and the country would continue on, pretty much the same" was a view many of us had after the reagan Presidency. But the stupidity of bush, his lack of control, has led to a serious inquiry into "Who is really in Charge?" Who is the Real "Decider"? And why Iraq? Because saddam tried to kill his daddy?
Or is it worse?
Was a cabal of "visionary", christian/fascists wanting to remake the world in some quasi-religious vision to make Israel safe, or transferring "reagan's Morning in America" to the world.
They had stolen an election-they could do anything. The cabal was so filled with hubris-they didn't understand there are limitations, even to the USA military.
There is a huge difference between saying you take responsibility and being responsible. The public performances of bush and wolfowitz as they "explained" their reasons for their bad acts makes them brothers and reveals they have no understanding of Responsibility. People who would be living with their families and conducting their lives; are dead because of your actions. Every death in Iraq is the responsibility of bush, wolfowitz, et al. But they(bush, wolfowitz,et al) are on a mission from god and people that don't understand, aren't worth listening to. They are in charge and "Shut up and do what you are told."

When Chavez said bush was a crazed messianic, Americans said "thats crazy." Now this is common knowledge, even in America.

Sure the machines could be tampered with and elections which presently appear legal could be hijacked-but these are all honorable men-Why Worry?
Just look at the big smile on the President of the United States of America-Why Worry?
The President would not be so happy if things were going BADLY-
WHY WORRY???
THIS IS THE "GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD" with a Democratically elected government of patriotic leaders. Corruption happens in other countries-not here-WHY WORRY?

No one mentions the casualties in Grenada as Marines were used to enforce American construction contract demands. No one mentions the teachers, Doctors and even truck drivers killed for a "Bounty" paid by the USA to destabilize the Sandanistas. All these programs were approved by a man who was above the law and beyond the reach of justice. The 7 nuns raped and murdered in Salvador were the victims of Mano Blanco supported by Reagan.
But he sure could make great speeches.
If bush could give great speeches, his failings and felonies would be overlooked as well.
