4EVER ANGSTY TEEN LUV

whatever berman (like in the eminem song): yr pastiche way of writing reads/looks like a 17 mag teentalk pop*star critique mesmerized by her receiving an A+ in jr yr honors english comp course...enuf of the sneaky independent sch innuendo...is this salon's summer of '08 fellow editor pick or a permanent position? flannery o'con(n)or never flattered herself w/such self-slaver...go & reread (or read) tha young "privileged" ones: fitz in "this side of paradise" age 23 -- james agee "knoxville: summer of 1915" age 26 -- keats "ode on a grecian urn" age 24...these writers worked in timeless style.

Da hong deng long qao gao gua -- beaucoup dinky dao!

oh come on, y'all, "raise the RED lantern" (or torch?)...the commentators i.e.; the inane comments homme/femme de lettres is typically ameriPOV classique...they miss the point as do most uninformed citizens o' u.s. of a....def not personne cultivee...these people git all caught up with the in-your-face corporate marketing & fireworks (sino-invention, i might add) display...throw money @ 'em and they will impress/cum...HOWEVER krich, perhaps u miss the point also...its about viewer/spectatorship (& sponsorship, who's gonna pay?) ...the spectacle is shaped not only by demands internal to the project itself but by the demands of the viewer/spectator (& der staat) as well...artistic autonomy is nonsensical & cannot exist w/o viewers...the role of art & gesture is rhetorically shaped by artistic practice from the gaze...remember that zhang is a performance artist & he IS illuminating, literally...so are the architects (see 'nest' & 4bidden palace &cetera)...society be damned...the ancient greeks did this: they didnt cease city-state wars or slavery or patriarchy -- the games went on...if we are to be puritanically pure about this so-called olympic ideal, we would have to go back to only one event (oiled naked freemen exclusively allowed to compete, sorry) like in the olympiads c.776-724 bme: the single stadion race was about 200 meters in length, but then we would, also, have to sacrifice oxen (not nice now)...& the winner was crowned in kotinos (olive branch) & went home afterward to large sums of money..."citius-altius-fortius" as baron de coubertin proclaimed and americascheer.com.

EDWARDS THE FILTH

whoa, yikes...very dicey, swarmy & shifty-eyed response to the question last night "why did you go the beverly hills HILTON?"...but who cares if we trusted this guy or not...MACHT NICHT...the question mark remains; why does he cavort around the country yacking/spouting/spewing on about labor, poverty, & "im fr nothing, a son of a millworker" and whatnot? on labor (hes a super successful trial attorney) on poverty (he lives in luxury) on son of a millworker (his father was actually a manager) and so on...he's full of horseshit...the nonsense and the carrying on...i dont believe in his noblesse oblige..."working class hero"~"gimme some truth"~"(just like) starting over"...he is all southern populist fakey and too much a pretty boy who never grew outta his narcissistic [sic] stage (J.E. see freud as in sigmund)...he always seemed to enjoy the bright lights, smirk and work his hair like he was @ his bathroom looking glass..."ill be your mirror"~"femme fatale"~"she's my best friend"~"venus in furs" -- i would much rather listen to lennon & the velvet underground.

JOHNNY APPLESEED

yo johnny, i did know ye...as a coeval southerner, i recognized this slick carolinian who sashayed his way into the senate a long time ago (see my MACHT NICHT letter dated 9AUG08)...the smirking facade, the coiffure, the imaging & the repetitive 'poor mouthing' ad nauseam always charmed an undoubting electorate...however, he is in a state of delusion, like cinema, this is about illusion (see "day for night")...or to disguise the illusion of the 'real'...cinema makes present what is absent, a sorta cinema-verite, and in his case, with a huge ellipsis..."when keepin' it real goes wrong" ~d. chapelle...johnny's scopic drive prevails and he never got past the mirror phase (see narcissism)...this psychodrama of the dancin' rielle is voyeurism par excellence...its gonna take a shaman with smarmy extraordinary powers to restore johnny...i prefer the 'allusion' of truffaut...c'est du cinema.

Olympian mawkishness

Another bon mot, oozing solemnity, gravely intoned: "Redemption."

It's been invoked so often that I'm expecting Pope Benedict to appear as guest announcer.

BOOTYLICIOUS

YO GARY:::

i wish that the female BV players would change their (uni)forms to the g-string suits that one finds @ wickedweasel in australia...this could lead to more gluteus maximus exposure and show-off the lower abs and allow greater freedom of movement for digs&spikes...this improvement would really make the critics go nutzzz...all one would then see is the pure flight of the ball because the competitors would be digitally blurred.

BUFFOONERY BANISHED

***it means that for the first time since 1960 the electorate has finally put wisdom forward and will be represented by a really cool person***

ELEVATED TO THE PURPLE

mos maiorum "customs of the ancestors" -- not quite -- this creepy guy W. & his neocon(men) have (had) frightening similarities to those ignorant arrogate late roman empire emperors that were just titular, inept & full of glorious g(c)reed . . . cohort signa militaria: the semiotic eagle continues without change.

GREENWASH

the only 'green' here is the legionnaires mold. philly & pennsyltuck are about as green as a month old oiled-hoagie found in an over-filled rat-infested garbage dung-heap of a dumpster @ Broad & Market!!!
