the only real difference between our behavior now and pre-bush is now, we're totally, completely, obnoxiously, unapologetic about it.
at least our earlier prez's had been marketing about themselves.

I have a Nokia N75 with AT&T. You don't get 3G coverage everywhere (I'm in Boston Metro North -- a pretty high tech area). Even when you do, it's not like the download speeds blow you away. Upload is wicked slow.
I'd say go for that first-gen iPhone.

people don't realize how powerful the RF emissions of cell phone are. these things emit huge amounts of RF energy.
it is entirely plausible that they can interfere with airplane comms.
of course, as patrick states, airplanes are designed to deal with noise and interference.
but still, makes sense to turn off cell phones.
otherwise, they make no sense at all. decide if you're having kids; if yes, maybe stay. if no, cut your losses and do what cary says.
This will definitely save energy and is a good idea.
We in the USA can also thank Europe for mandating safer chemicals and materials in all of our electronics--- the RoHS regulations which restrict the use of lead and other things.

i went through a smallish airport in poland recently, and i was impressed that the scanner-dude hunted down my nail clippers (which had been through probably 10 to 20 scans at various airports).
it wasn't the nail clippers he didn't like, it was the little fold-out nail file/pick tool!
that's a 2" long blade, you know.
the guy was cool though, he let me snap it off and throw it away.
that way i could keep the clippers.

Follow the links to see all the detail of the ad; the URL goes to the Greek BMW web site.
I doubt BMW execs would consider this appropriate in the USA market.
Definitely, a classy ad :-)

that's the big reason netbooks run cool -- the CPU isn't dissipating all that heat!
Is there seriously a real paper document that is worth $1,000,000,000 ?
