There's a reason

why there is plenty of video of nasty crowds spewing negative swill at wholesale levels at McCain rallies...and not at Obama rallies.

It's the same reason that Obama will never have to confront a hate-mongering, ignorant nitwit who helps tank his campaign before he can grab the mic away.

I've been to Obama rallies in PA. His message is all business, not hate innuendo, smirks, winks and shoulder shrugs. And people respond in like manner.

Likewise, watch the network, local or national coverage after events. Obama/Democrats talk about how he will bring the right policies to American government. McCain/Republicans repeat idiotic but hateful lies about Obama, usually with a smirk or a growl.

And that's why, in a few weeks, a U-Haul from Illinois will be packing up for a move to Pennsylvania Avenue.

There's a wonderful piece on Truthout.org about McCain's "He's an Arab" moment. His biggest supporters are drowning him in their sludge.

There's also a video on Comedycentral.com that features interviews of the crowd at a Wasilla sports bar after the V.P. debate. One of them actually says "things are going to be very white". And goes on to mention there are no "colored people" to speak of in Wasilla.

It's the new Republican party. McCain has been feeding the monster. And now McCain has seen it's face. He's about to be devoured by his own.

His staff and advisers can equivocate all they want. It's right there for anyone who can work a remote, a keyboard or pick up a newspaper.

This is all so PeeWee's Playhouse..."I know you are, but what am I?"

@JimAK1

Yes, a shirt with the c-word is inappropriate. But it is also passive compared to the vitriol being shouted by McCain Palin crowds after they've been deliberately baited by the candidates.

Obama pulled about 60,000 people to his four street rallies, and Palin was doing a snooty "for $25,000 you shake my hand" affair at one of Philly's ritziest hotels. So that may account for the difference in coverage...ya think?

I was at one of the Obama rallies and people were excited but respectful...the tone set by Senator Obama, himself.

And when she walked onto the ice at the Flyers game Palin was booed. Perhaps that's why the news report was less than cloying...which is apparently what you expected.

John McCain's undoing

has been his exposure. The more he talks, the more the cameras are focused on him...the worse he looks. The more his "say anything and change it on a dime" rhetoric, the more his "uncomfortable in his own skin" tendencies and strategies play out to voters who have only known him as the white-haired mythical hero/maverick, the deeper he sinks.

He's playing Richard Nixon to a young, intelligent, articulate, charismatic opponent. And his own supporters are taking every spotlight moment to make him look not only bad, but despicable and sinister.

"We've got them just where we want them".....watch for it on SNL. How could they resist?

I think we've got him

just where we want him.

McCain is either believing his own deceitful campaign rhetoric, or he has completely lost his mind. Or both.

Original article: "Kill him!" again

What would Obama do?

When people booed at the reference to his opponent, Obama gently redirected them by saying, "No. No. We don't need boos...we need votes." He made his point with finesse and dignity. And booing the opposition is a far cry from the vile things McCain/Palin crowds are spewing.

Even when McCain tried to call off the wolves he's been throwing red meat to...they booed him too, at his own rally. And at another rally, one of his hate-mongers basically told him to shut up while the man finished his rant. The gates are open. The dogs are out. I'm not sure either McCain or Palin can corral them again...even if they were inclined. (Which they're not...at least not Palin)

Who's your leader?

C'mon over to the light side, Christopher...

We encourage discourse and weigh diverse opinions for their independent value and foundation...and we don't eat our young.

The biggest news here

was hearing John McCain claim that Obama had run the most negative campaign in the history of the universe...more or less.

I want some of what he's on. An alternative reality would be nice right about now.

The team he's on

likely mandated Rove's predictions that Republicans would hold onto their congressional seats in '06. Today, Rove isn't W's waterboy or puppetmaster, (he could be both, depending).

Now, he is attempting to live down his evil empire reputation by trying to appear like an actual policy wonk. It will never fly outside the inner neowhacko circles and Fox. Nevertheless, it frees him up to call it as he sees it, rather than flat out wishfully lying.

Alex, you always seem to have to get that little lick in at the end that takes the joy out of nearly every positive story. Please stop. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong. The point is...Karl Rove is already calling it for Obama. (Oh, but he was wrong before, so maybe he's wrong again. Are you kidding me?)

Just a thought

In recent memory, Republicans caught in scandals have steadfastly refused to resign.

I'm just sayin'. Repugnant though it may be...an equal playing field and all that.

The difference

between this ignorant woman's use of this despicable image and some sleazy porn ass making a movie with Palin's double is that he is not a political entity sending out campaign propaganda.

Yes there IS a difference.I hope McCain is just as proud of this woman as he indignantly (at the debate) claimed to be of all the other whackos going to his and Palin's "rallies".

The Republican Party has lost all semblance of respectability.

Republican trustworthiness...

Unfortunately, the do-anything-to-win party doesn't make for a trust-endowed swapping pact.
