Obama's Roots Ad

The Obama campaign is fighting back with a long ad outlining Obama's origins. It talks about his grandfather, and his mother....and their WWII service, work and committment. It shows family photos that depict clearly "where he comes from", and debunks the crap we saw in that video of the woman at a rally who kept referring to his "bloodlines" being the basis for identifying him as a terrorist.

It's a great ad. Positive...doesn't "answer" any of the nonsense, just puts it to bed softly. It is running in PA.

If you can get it, Salon,please post it.

P.S.

It's tragic that the Obama campaign has to spend money showing family photos in response to far right gibberish....he should be able to spend every nickel telling voters what he will do for them. Abut alas, that's where the people on the other side are...cheap shots and baseless innuendo that the halfwits will repeat mindless ad nauseum.

Original article: "Puck you, Palin!"

the official word here in Philadelphia

is that they have been looking for the ultimate "hockey mom" for the past month..and suddenly, well...what would be more natural?

Problem is...the man behind it is a major Republican donor and supporter, who has, apparently maxed out on financial support and is claiming...holy cow....that this isn't political.

She's just a hockey mom, bless her.

There has already been a lot of local flap over this. I just hope there are plenty of boos in the background when they show the footage on the news tomorrow night. I'm just wondering if it is for the sake of grabbing those newscasts on the same day Obama has multiple Philly stops. Gee, ya think?

Original article: Palin booed at Flyers game

@some of you

I saw video this morning that obviously had LOUD booing when Palin was introduced. Apparently the kid didn't work out as planned. Her Phillys sponsor had the music cranked up to a deafening roar, and it wasn't enough to hide the booing.

I was at a Philly rally for Obama the same day...yesterday...he brought out 60,000 people. (who all sound like reasonable, issues-based supporters on news interviews by the way. Not crazy nitwits. Sorry if that would offend McCain, but I saw the look on his face as the woman told him Obama was an Arab. He knows all too well who they are, and it must be making him lose his breakfast most mornings just looking forward to the next batch.)

Philly fans didn't boo Palin because they are sports jackasses. They don't like her in the majority. And they resented that the Republican chairman of the team tried to make the game into a Republican ticket rally without their agreement to participate. It was a pathetic ruse to claim she is the ultimate hockey mom. And as I just read, apparently her son played one season of junior hockey...it isn't a family calling and/or passion. Just another of the many attempts at Joe Sixpack window dressing.

And by the way, in an interview she said she would be rooting for the Rangers because one of them was from Alaska. That statement makes her a bad guest and a stupid candidate who's wooing PA/Philly voters.

@THawk7

YOU SAID: "In a little publicized story, back when Hillary was still the frontrunner and expected to win the nomination, Hillary was instructed by Bush insiders to stop saying she would stop the war. The message, she wouldn't be allowed to stop it, and if she continued to make promises about ending the war, it would hurt her presidency.

The very next day, she stopped promising to end the war."

There's a reason the story isn't publicized. It's a lie. I met Senator Clinton at the DNC Winter Meeting when each candidate delivered their kick-off speech and there was no frontrunner yet. A nearby man kept interrupting with "Senator, when are you going to get us out of Iraq?" He asked it repeatedly, and each time she replied "When you get me 60 votes". She NEVER said she would get us out of Iraq. Not before. Not after. Not ever.

By the way, my son is headed to the Middle East again. Two sons, three tours in Iraq so far. And as much as I want it to end tomorrow, period, even I know there is no simple way out of the mess Bush and his enablers have created for us. But I know this...my kids will be in Iraq for the rest of their lives, or worse, under McCain, but Obama has the courage and the intellect to do the right thing.

And since I have meandered onto things military...McCain's record is abysmal on votes for supporting the military. He has voted against benefits and pay, he opposed the 21st Century GI bill because he thought if we gave soldiers access to education they would be less likely to sign on again. In other words, he has supported a military that keeps 'em poor, dependent and worn out. Some potential commander-in-chief.

WHICH IS WHY VETERAN'S GROUPS HAVE RATED HIM PATHETICALLY LOW ON MILITARY ISSUES, AND WHY ACTIVE DUTY SERVCE MEMBERS ARE GIVING THEIR MONEY TO OBAMA, SIX TO ONE!
