"This is such a non-issue
Apparently we are now in the "let's throw it up there and see what will stick" phase of the campaign.
If the Clinton campaign really thinks this thing has legs than they are either desperate or incompetent or both."

ITA. A total non-issue. Especially when you have a situation where Patrick and Obama share speech ideas, campaign ideas and apparently an advisor.

"Why doesn't anyone..
Why doesn't anyone point out that the person allegedly being plagarized, Duval Patrick, DOES NOT CARE? He does not mind what Obama did, at least not publically, and that's all that really matters.

Patrick doesn't mind no doubt because he and Obama have discussed this response at length long before Obama gave the speech. Given that most of the passage contains famous quotes from others, I fail to see how that is plagiarizing the language. There's really only one way to reference "I hav a dream."
What a snide and condescending tool. David Brooks does not nor will he ever speak for the electorate. Sneer all you want David, that won't stop the voters from having their say and supporting whoever the heck they want.
It's not necessarily the numbers Obama has accrued, it's the fact that Hillary hasn't gained any traction from the myriad bombs lobbed his way. He dashed out in front of her and she's been playing catch-up, quite ineffectively, ever since.
What some (very few) don't get is that Hillary simply doesn't inspire people to vote for her. Sounds obvious, I know. But all the arguing about Texas and Ohio and Pennsylvania is basically reflective of a lack of will to see what has been occurring for months. Clinton has been losing the primary races due to her own weaknesses as a candidate.
I know Hawii has some unique demographics. I wonder which ones Hillary won.

"Unfortunately, when I consider Obama's lack of overall qualifications plus the vehemence of his supporters, I hope that Obama loses this year. If so, we can field a much better and more able group of Progressive candidates in 2012."
Ana, what in the world do Obama's supporters and their "vehemence" have to do with electing a "better" candidate? Please make that connection. As for qualifications of HRC, please prove that she will be able to *effect* the big changes she has touted.
As far as I can see, Barack is being challenged in his party by a cadidate who has proved to be light on big changes despite her long resume in D.C.. On the other side is a respected dinosaur who will lose unless a bomb hits LAX. He simply has no plans to reform our economy or anything else. Good luck with that McCain!

Bitter much? You appear angry that Hillary has lost, not at Barack's ability to win. And in case you have missed it, he was been winning across virtually ALL demographic categories. I guess your allegedly progressive colleagues must be similar to that miniscule demographic that Hillary won over in Hawii. In case you have also failed to notice the numbers out of Wisconsin, Barack won't need you to beat McCain in the GE.
