[Read the article: The new math in Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Actually, Clinton was the front-runner with far more money, political connections, name-recognition and superdelegate support. How in the world does one become an underdog with that combination?
As for fighting a multi-front war, you clearly haven't been following the media. Obama has been fighting like mad against McCain, the GOP amchine, the Right Wing nuts like Limbaugh AND Clinton for the past 3 months. He also started out with far less money and far less name-recognition. He and his campaign staff changed all of that and for the better.
The only real obstacles for Clinton were built-in resentment against her by some in the media but not all (Joan Walsh?), a sloppy campaign and, of course, Obama. Again, how precisely was Hillary's road tougher?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]That's a great question. If Hillary is allegedly the stronger candidate in the GE, then why has Hillary been hurt so badly by misogyny in a Democratic primary? Are there really more women-resenters in the Democratic party than the GOP? hmmm....

The Death of MI and Fl Revotes
[Read the article: The new math in Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is from the War Room regarding Michigan revote plans which were killed by the legislature.
"Liz Boyd, a spokeswoman for Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm -- a supporter of Hillary Clinton -- told ABC News, "What I can tell you is that the idea of a state-run, privately funded primary is dead."
In FL, Karen Thurman, the Democratic Party chair declared the revote idea dead due to overwhelming opposition from thousands of floridians. In this case, the state party killed the idea.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]You wrote (rather inarticulately):
"These people say she's destroyed the party actually the cowards of Super Delegates who are afraid of up setting the blacks ruined the party."

[Read the article: The new math in Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I realize it isn't perfect, but it's called democracy. The rules Obama *won* by have been won by every Democrat since 1988, including Bill Clinton TWICE. Too late to complain 20 yrs after the fact. Think about that.
BTW- I'm sure many Republicans gnashed their teeth as Romney got blindsided by Huckabee and proved inacapable of taking out McCain, a FAR less appealing prospect to Republicans. However, the rules they have in place make it so that 2nd place gets you nothing, leaving Romney in an untenable position within 2 months of the start of the campaign.
Hey, we all don't get what we want, we get what the system, OUR system gives us. The fact that Obama played the system smarter and better than Clinton is to his CREDIT, not his fault. After all, Clinton must have known better than anyone how the game is played, right?

[Read the article: The new math in Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Idiocy. "Lefty caucuses" and "AA's" helped Bill Clinton win too. In fact, "AA's" were some of Clinton's staunchest supporters in every election. If Bill could win under those rules, why not Hill?

[Read the article: The new math in Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]While I think Hillary is a very hard worker and promotes a far better agenda than McCain, I must dispute your claim of her being a good leader. There's simply no evidence to support it. She's NOT a leader in the Senate although she has been very vocal and visible. She's certainly a strong presence but not the leader yet. She could be with time.
OTOH, we have seen her leadership skills in action during this campaign. Clinton has operated as CEO of a 200+ million dollar operation called her presidential cmapaign. This singular entity is nothing more than an abject failure.
The evidence:
1) Clinton has paid Mark Penn in excess of $4 million to give her one bad idea after another. Then, when he publicly humiliates her over the Columbia deal and she still keeps him on as an advisor.
2) Whole factions of aides for Clinton loathe some of her top managers, such as Solis-Doyle. And more to the point, this dirty laundry has been made very, very public.
3) Her campaign has been visibly flat-footed in determining how many delegates they could get, as in the Texas primary/caucus circus. She ended up behind Obama despite winning more votes.
4) Clinton, despite raking in enormous amounts of money has burned through it all and owes in excess of $11 million. We all know about the tens of thousands of dollars spent on donuts and the 5-star hotel rooms. In fact, she has been one step ahead of the collectors since Ohio.
While Hillary has intelligence and talent, her campaign has been rife with mismanagement and animosity. If she's such a great leader, why is her campaign such a mess? At some point, the buck stops with Hillary.

The Media Keeps Repeating the Lie
[Read the article: Clinton math]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary would have a much harder time making her case if the media wouldn't keep repeating the mantra, "the popular vote." Basic civics people. We elect nominees and presidents too using elected delegates. That's it.
Harold "say anything" Ickes was confronted by his staggering hypocrisy on Meet the Press this morning. Russert reminded him how he insisted that Tim repeat after him, "it's the delegates" way, way back in December 2007. Ickes's response to this exposure was a huge tell, he convulsively blinked his eyes and gave a tight grin. His reply was" well, things change.."
Oh, really? The delegate system has changed? When and how Harold?
