"Of course she's down in Texas. They have sensible voters there who aren't going to just vote for someone because they have a black mug."

LOL! I get it now. No other states or voters matter now except Texas. Just wondering, how many states does Clinton intend to write off in the general election? A brilliant strategy!
I also have a question: How many white guys in MD just voted for Obama's "black mug?" Is your theory that he simply inspires lots of interracial man-crushes? A fascinating theory.

McCain's remarks
[Read the article: McCain targets Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What exactly does McCain mean when he says "sound and proven ideas?" The economy is in tatters...from a Bush presidency. The war in Iraq has been ill-conceived and mishandled from the start. It continues to serve as an enormous drain on our military and financial resources which lead us to be exposed, not protected from attacks. This is a winning argument? McCain is toast.

"PETRO-DOLLARS FIND ITS WAY TO OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN.
Not many Americans stopped to think for a minute where did Obama get such amounts that kept his campaign going so strongly. Many Arab countries have vested interest in having Obama elected. He will be pursuing policies that are beneficial to the Muslim World. Those countries who have huge money from the surge in oil prices have been very successful in trickling small amounts of money in the hands of a huge number of Americans especially Muslims that have contributed to the budget of Obama's campaign. Naives Americans."

I challenge you to prove the statements you just made about where Obama's money comes from. I also challenge you to show how Obama intended policies would benefit Arab countries in particular. The latter is a laughable suggestion given that the oil rich Arab states have benefitted from the friendly, cozy and highly secretive Bush energy policies.
FYI Barack Obama has more than 700,000 online members & donors, including myself. That kind of fundraising outreach has prompted hundreds of thousands to give in $50 and $100 increments. If you do the math, Barack Obama's ability to generate funds is not only enormous (explaining his ability to generate millions in a couple days), but it also means that most donors have not been tapped out yet. I know my family will be giving more in the coming 2 or 3 months.
The bottom line is that barack Obama has played the Internet fundraising game FAR better than virtually anyone else. I don't know who developed this approach on Obama's team, but they have proven invaluable.

McCain's Chances in the GE
[Read the article: McCain targets Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm so surprised at some posters on these boards that seem to think that McCain will have a great shot at defeating Obama. He's having a tough time fending off Huckabee and Huckabee has only the evangelicals as a core supporting group. From the exit polls from all of the most recent contests, the democratic races, where Obama trounced Clinton, featured the heaviest turnout BY FAR than the Republican races.
What bizarre mathematical formula are some posters (Anon in particular) working with that concludes that the GOP even has the BASE at this point to defeat Obama? The fact is this: The GOP has successfully alienated large swaths of their long-standing members. My only caveat is if Hillary Clinton were to secure the democratic nomination. Only someone who is truly despised could infuse the GOP base to come out in force for McCain.

[Read the article: Obama's surge extends down the Potomac]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Please don't bother to point out the obvious racism that flows through Anons many, many posts. He/she/whatever is just venting rage. Yes, it is bigoted and factually false rage, but rage nonetheless. Your post was too thoughtful and too decent for Anon.
I myself started on a post very similar to yours a couple of days ago and then realized that Anon doesn't care how he/she/whatever is judged by others. Cythera45 is of the same ilk.
Just a point: I recall vividly Barack Obama being labelled as "not-black-enough" by writers on this very Salon forum not that many months ago. Now he's too black because he is owning the AA vote. I guess he's too young now too becuase he is taking the youth vote. And now we see him snaring the white male vote. Is he too much of a man? Perhaps Obama also needs to fake-bake frequently so as to clearly delineate himself from the hordes of white males who have decided to cast their vote for him.
Bottom line: People will vote for the person they basically like the most. That's true anywhere you go. This election cycle has proven a very bitter truth for Hillary Rodham Clinton. The truth is that Barack Obama tends to make people like him and his vision for America. Some people may sneer but this is a free country.

Why ?
[Read the article: NAACP head wants Florida, Michigan delegates counted]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How can the DNC award delegates after they arranged to strip both states of their delegates? I don't believe there was a full ballot of Democratic nominees in these contests so it makes no sense. The only fair way to seat delegates is to have another vote at this point. Or don't seat the delgates at all.

@MIKI
[Read the article: NAACP head wants Florida, Michigan delegates counted]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You haven't made an argument for allowing the delegates in your post. They were stripped by the DNC. That didn't bar voting in a state primary, it barred seating delegates at the national convention. If Michigan and Florida wanted to seat delegates at the *national* convention, they would have stuck to the DNC schedule. It's not as though the votes were thrown out, the delegates were stripped. Blame the state committees.
