How valid can this be?
[Read the article: Do women prefer men who play team sports?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And who cares? I can't imagine any men are going to change what they enjoy doing just to, allegedly, attract more women. No guy who is really athletic or competetive in any sport will care enough.

Voodoo Economics...
[Read the article: Gas taxes and head games]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sound familiar, McCain? This plan is disastrous on a number of levels, but at least McCain gives the appearance of giving a rat's tushie about the economy. But since his (and the Republican) "plan" for the economy is essentially "no-plan", this idea fits right in there.

I agree with the McCains here
[Read the article: McCain releases tax returns -- at least, some of them]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Apparently, the children are big beneficiaries of Cindy McCain's 100 million dollar fortune. Their trusts etc. are then dislosed to the public. I think a little disclosure is appropriate and then leave it at that. I believe the McCain's still have a minor child and really, it's nobody's business about their fortune. The vast majority of money comes from Cindy's family and she doesn't even run the company.

No, it won't...
[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No, the debate won't hurt Obama in the primary election. When large numbers of voters and viewers MOCK the debate, you know the democatic base just doesn't care. However, these kinds of questions may hurt him in the GE if he doesn't aggressively put them to bed or basically shut them down. He's already on that path by mocking the moderators and Clinton in his subsequent rallies. I particularly liked the "brush your shoulders off" gesture.
OTOH, Joan, why is there no coverage of the inflammatory remarks Clinton made about MoveOn at a private fundraiser after her Super Tuesday failure? Talk about divisive and alienating your base. It's also dishonest, whining and embarrassing for Clinton to insult this group who formed to save her husband's lying, cheating rear-end.

"It was quality investigative journalism, not the red-meat for the nut left it is now with fawning and sighing over a half-black, Muslim, inexperienced goon from Hawaii that couldn't win 10 states in an election."

You do realuize that when you write like this YOU sound like the nut job.
It's terribly comforting to know that a Clinton supporter (I think), has only racial jibes and patently false statements about Obama to throw back. Now if you had a legitimate argument it would be different. Then again, if you had a legitimate argument, you probably would have made it instead of resorting to name-calling and lying.

Newsweek Says...
[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Despite her campaign's relentless attacks on Barack Obama's qualifications and electability, Hillary Clinton has lost a lot of ground with Democratic voters nationwide going into Tuesday's critical primary in Pennsylvania, a new NEWSWEEK poll shows.
The survey of 1,209 registered voters found that Obama now leads Clinton by nearly 20 points, or 54 percent to 35 percent, among registered Democrats and those who lean Democratic nationwide. The previous Newsweek poll, conducted in March after Clinton's big primary wins in Ohio and Texas, showed the two Democrats locked in a statistical tie (45 percent for Obama to 44 percent for Clinton). The new poll puts Obama ahead among women as well as men, and voters aged 60 and older as well as younger voters. (For the complete poll data, click here).
One of the more devastating results for Clinton was that a majority of all registered voters now see her as dishonest and untrustworthy. According to the poll, just four in 10 (41 percent) registered voters view the New York senator as honest and trustworthy, while 51 percent think the opposite. This compares with solid majorities of voters who see Obama and McCain as honest and trustworthy (both polled 61 percent). "

Question: When will Joan Walsh and Salon discuss the FACT that Hillary Clinton is turning off the people that she NEEDS to vote for her? Or as others have stated, is Clinton really just trying to toss the Dems under the bus this year so that she can run again in 4 years?
Oh, and Joan, you might also want to do a story on Clinton's vicious and dishonest attack on MoveOn. I actually joined the org just for good measure. Money to follow. I've never been so driven to work against a Democrat before. Perhaps the elder Bob Casey but not in many, many years.

@Steve Fox
[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's difficult to say whether these new Obama voters will stay, especially if he somehow doesn't win the nomination. This is a real problem for the DNC but it's a tremendous opportunity too. Research shows that you tend to vote consistently in the manner you start. That means that all of those young voters that Bill Clinton and now Hillary are demeaning are, in fact, the future of the Democratic Party.
Those voters who have basically not voted until now are also a real opportunity for the DNC. Less than young new voters but still a boon. Obama's campaign has amazingly chnged the system and lots of people, me included, are very impressed.
When you hear Hillary savage MoveOn for their "activism" you should be very afraid. This activism is what will toss out the bums in November and keep them out. The system relies on most people either not giving a damn or focusing on totally inconsequential stuff (like lapel pins.) That way, the few who have so much to gain can exert disproportionate influence and we all sit around wondering how Bush survived in office this long.
