All The Doohdah Daze

It doesn't matter whether it is in Irag, Syria, Iran or elsewhere, war with Islam is inevitable unless all you leftist atheists are going to convert.

You idiots are so fixated on George Bush's win in 2000 that you can't even think straight. What a bunch of Lemmings. Get over it.

Arnold

`

Doodah46, even if what you say is true, it's the appalling ignorance, lack of planning, and poor strategy that is threatening America. Your president didn't even know that there is a difference between Shia and Sunni.

You can make the same case about Communism, but it still doesn't excuse the disaster that was the Vietnam War. Just because Communists and Jihadists want to destroy us doesn't mean we should lose our heads and do stupid, counter-productive things. George Bush is a much bigger threat to America than Islam, because he is the decider and is making terrible decisions. He donned a lemming costume and you and your fellow travelers are following him over the cliff, but before you do that you're trying to corral the wise ones. It's not going to work. Go to Iraq if you think it's such a good idea. George Bush is the worst leader in history. Get over it!

Ungrounded Pilot

They may get their wish yet, and we'll leave Iraq before the country is secure. Then they can relive their Cambodian debaucle all over again, and feel good about themselves.

If this happens, it's only a matter of time before radical Islam places a biological or worse weapon in a major city on our shores. You can then, of course, blame that too on George Bush, because it's never your fault.

The party of JFK and "Scoop Jackson", of which I was a part, is officially dead. You know sleep with George Soros, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. A threesome only a liberal could enjoy.

Mcvici, The debacle in Vietnam, and the aftermath is entirely on your head. Stop blaming other people for your mistakes. Be a man, and grow up. Thanks for letting us know who you work for. I will never fly that airline again.

You should be concerned about how this administration is hurting the air traffic controllers. You SHOULD be concerned about a jihadists planting a bomb in an American city, because your idiot president failed to secure our ports and borders. He is being played by our two most dangerous Islamic enemies, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. George Bush screwed the pooch big time. Right wing reactionaries always screw things up.

King Kong Is Dead

The 10,000 pound gorilla in the room is this. Print journalism is all but obsolete, and T.V. journalism is now an entertainment industry. Only radio and the blogosphere have any relevance in the 21st Century. This is because the modern man and woman wants to respond to these pundits, it's so much more satisfying than yelling at your television set.

@Vidor1

If I want tinfoil hat theories I can read the Weekly World News, not Salon.

Vidor1, The C.I.A. is concealing the incontrovertible fact that Oswald was connected to the U.S. intelligence community. Please explain to me how he was able to defect to the Soviet Union then be allowed back into the United States and go on to assassinate an American president. You are not only an annoyingly smug right wing nut, you are utterly devoid of any common sense. Why do you come to a public forum and display your ignorance?

Jonathan Alter Weighs In

Jonathan Alter just posted about the incident that started all of this on Huffington Post.

Friday, May 11, 2007 08:56 AM

Hark The Harold Angel Zings

Another reason I have for believing that HuffPo may have heavily edited the comments is that the 14 comments that are there (as of 4:30 AM CST today) are, for the most part, relatively tame. Maybe these were the nicest ones they could find. HuffPo comment sections are normally as full of zingers as other political sites in the blogosphere and occassionally nearly as spicey as Firedoglake's. I hope that HuffPo's omission of any comments, mine included, are not indicative of a new policy modeled on that of the DoJ and White House email “moderators.”

-- Michael Harold

`

Michael, I suppose I should take umbrage seeing how my comment was the first one posted. It wasn't spicey or particularly pithy, but it did get Glenn's name mentioned in several other commnents. In fact he was cited more frequently than the guy from RADAR.

HuffPo posts all comments for the news items and only some of the comments for the blogs. I believe the blogger decides which ones get posted. Perhaps yours didn't make the cut because you didn't actually say anything. You just repeated what Alter wrote without any observation other than "Where do I begin". The highlight of my brief blogging life occured when Queen Arianna herself quoted me in the headline of one of her posts.

@Vidor1

if you look at the actual Kennedy evidence the conspiracy theories fall apart.

-- vidor1

`

Vidor1, irrespective of the actual shooting, it's impossible to deny that Oswald was connected to the U.S. intelligence community. That is just a fact. If it makes you feel better that he was just a lone right wing nut, go ahead. Why is this the only subject you comment on? Also why do you choose a famously racist, Texas city for your screen name? Enquiring minds want to know.
