Karen M., Yes SOB Is A Troll

Karen M. Here is something I posted on another website. I hope this answers your question about whether or not I'm a troll. I have little patience for liberals who are weak or sanctimonious.

`

`

Could you kindly stop trying to provoke Nizzope and other right wingers and just talk about the issues, though? Its incredibly counterproductive and quite irritating.

`

Nima, yes, to answer your question, I believe drugs should be decriminalized, with the exception of crystal meth. And no, I'm not going to stop provoking Nizzope and other right-wingers. Frankly I find your wishy washy blathering and your all too earnest questions to be irritating and utterly useless. Until you stop playing the part of Judy while right wingers play Punch, I will continue to yank their strings. If you're trying to make the case for liberalism, don't preface every point with an equivocation. Concede nothing, be strong!

Bronze Bombthrower

Debbie Schlussel was just named third Worst Person in the World by Keith Olbermann. It's hard to believe there were two people worse than her.

A Thousand To One Longshot

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two Secret Service officers were injured on Tuesday after a gun held by another Secret Service officer accidentally fired inside the White House gate, according to a spokesman, Darrin Blackford.

`

For every criminal thwarted by a gun wielding citizen there are a thousand accidents like this. I've got an idea. Why not require handgun owners to join the National Guard or some other well regulated militia?

Have you been watching Bill O'Reilly again? Did this really happen or is it another tall tale from The War On Christmas?

Jayhawking

In the meantime - does anyone else have suggestions on where I can find objective news and opinion pieces similar to the old Salon?

`

Yeah, just click your heels together and say "There's no place like home" Face it Kansasgirl, you're a right winger who is buying into the liberal media myth. Obviously Joan is a moderate or else she wouldn't have been debating whether or not to criticize the president. As for me, it's always a good time.

Less Snark, More Filling

Sonofabastard, if I'm a right winger, I'm a very poor one since I've always voted for Democratic candidates and I gave money to Howard Dean's campaign (the only time I've donated money to a presidential candidate).

-- kansasgirl

`

Well, then you're a better liberal than me. I used to live in Vermont, yet I supported Kerry early on because I thought he was more electable. I'd love a do-over of the 2004 election with Howard Dean as the candidate.

There is a site called THE MODERATE VOICE. I don't care for it myself, and you'll need an attorney to decipher their comments policy. My local paper the S.F. Chronicle has pretty middle of the road opinions in their S.F. Gate blogs. I think the Washington Post skews right, but you might find it to be unbiased. The New York Times is good also.

They Often Call Him Speedo

there is a curious fact about fast typing

and that is the tendency to use sound alike words, there/their sight/site an/and etc. even when you perfectly well what the right word is. I do it all the time.

My Favorite Martian

I can't take any T.V. critic seriously if she watches THE APPRENTICE but not VERONICA MARS, which unfortunately is returning with it's last episodes starting May 1st. VERONICA MARS is the best show not airing on HBO or SHOWTIME. It's got great writing and features the coolest female character in the history of television. It's also the most delicious eye candy I've ever tasted. The visual components alone make it must see T.V.; cinematography, set design, costumes, not to mention the drop dead gorgeous star, Kristen Bell.

Avenging Mrs. Peel's Honour

In a previous post I referred to Veronica Mars as the coolest character in the history of television. I forgot about Emma Peel, who is in fact the coolest character in the history of television. Veronica Mars gets the Silver Medal, and Kristen Bell still holds the title as the World's Sexiest Vegan.

Futhark Earns Red Star

Futhark's comment was very insightful. It could also be used to dissect the relationship between libertarianism and liberalism. I consider myself to be a liberal, yet I always start at the libertarian position on every issue. I move toward government regulation if and when it's appropriate. Environmental laws for example, are neccessary because a free market cannot address problems like global warming, water conservation, or waste disposal. On the other hand I oppose censorship and FCC control of our airwaves. An unfettered marketplace works perfectly. I also oppose most of our drug laws, which create far worse problems than they could possibly solve.

Another example of how useless labels have become happened this morning when Newt Gingrich blamed liberalism for the Virginia Tech rampage. What was he referring to, the liberal Virginia gun laws that allow someone like Cho to acquire weapons with ease, or the liberal authoritarians who pushed through a ban of guns on campus? It turns out he was railing agaimst the liberalism of the free market that profits from violent movies and video games.
