Original article: Pissed about Palin

Sorry folks but Cintra is funny and you are overreacting...

I found Cintra's article funny and I enjoy her writing style. Sorry, but she has a right to voice her opinion and it's so ironic that the same folks who decry the PC tendencies of the left are oh so full of self-righteous indignation themselves, crying "foul" when someone calls them on what some of us consider to be utter bullshit, (yes, I am referring to the nomination of a virtual unknown at the last minute and hiding behind notions of fairplay and political correctness in order to prevent a serious dissection of everything she stands for).

And secondly, Her family is NOT off limits as she made them front and center of her presentation at the convention, passing her infant Downs Syndrome child around like a wrapped salami. As parent myself, I found it exploitive and offesive. Pu-lease, you know if Barak Obama had a pregnant underage daughter we would hear no end of criticism of him and his "parenting ability". You are all so, so, SO full of shit.

Original article: Biden goes on the offensive

This is not a bad approach...

ridicule the notion of reform and tie it to the legacy of Dubya. The line about the sequel allways being worse is great!

This is the kind of ad they need to put into heavy rotation.

It sounds simple but the republicans are always shamelessly hitting the same notes over and over again. We need to tie this recent crisis to Lyndsey Graham, McCain's top financial advisor.

McCain doen't know how many houses he owns and has admitted that he doesn't understand the economy. They've given us the ammuntion to blow a gaping hole in the Free Market Utopian ethos.

Another meme we need to create/ promote is that the Republican Experiment has Failed. What we have is corporate socialism. The Republicans HATE socialism .

Dregulation + greed - oversight = the Bush Economy.

Original article: Sarah Palin's wasteful ways

re:Mister Marker

I dunno, a giant unused sports facility, (this is not the first time that I've heard that one...), and an extra unnecessary emergency dispatch center for a small area seem like pretty verifiable events. However, the troubling thing for me, is the notion that she built the emergency dispatch center in order to NOT share one with her rival high school district and THAT is scarily reminiscent of our current Occupant's behavior- anyone remember that one of the driving forces behind his wanting to go into Iraq was revenge for Saddam's failed assassination attempt on his dear old Dad? Also, her governing ability/style is also verifiable and worthy of investigation, her vaunted executive experience notwithstanding, if she is an arms-length, uninvolved governor we need to know, (again this is something I've heard about from other ex-Palin associates). Remember, Bush had a similar role as governor with the Lieutenant Governor doing most of the actual work.

The only thing that detracts from the article is the parent complaining about his/her kid not getting enough playing time on the school basketball team- anyone with a kid on a sports team has had the same experience.

Overall though, I'm of two minds on this. Yeah, it'd be nice to relegate her to the asterisk in history that she deserves, but to be but judging from her meteoric rise, and the general gullibility of the American public , if she doesn't get elected, me thinks we dodged a bullet.

Original article: Sarah Palin's dead lake

David Talbot's reporting on the Palin Saga has been compelling, interesting and entertaining

I know people want to take the high road here by pretending that the palin coverage should go away, but even as I find her a big distraction, (or the "Rodeo Clown as I've heard her referred to), I still find the whole phenomena worthy of a discussion because it points to the absolute desperation and cynicism of the republican party, and I for one would like to see lain to waste this phony notion of dewey-eyed populism that masks such craven ambition and greed, and any report that helps in that regard, I heartily salute. Big Box stores indeed. ...and a dead lake. Why would we not welcome such stewardship into the White House?

When the simple truth is elucidated the trolls start frothing...it's sadly predictable

The Free Market Utopians are a strange bunch. You know, we've experienced 20 some odd years of the "republican revolution" including the last 8 with majority rule in both houses of congress and we've seen the results of their ideology in both our foreign policy and our financial markets and still they cry that the problems are government regulation! Strange what a bunch of crybabies the tough-as-nails, every-man-for-himself, pull-yourself-up-by-yer-own-bootstraps, greed-is-good, "UhmeriKa First" nutbags really are. I don't know what's more depressing, having to pretend to have an honest dialogue in a political enviroment that is so debased or watching them twist themselves into veritable pretzel shapes attempting to defend their cartoonish worldview. We are seeing what's behind the mask and it ain't pretty.

Original article: The fungible candidate

This makes me even more scared than I was

Apparently her understanding of "energy" is similar to her foreign policy experience in that living in a state that has oil makes her an expert.

It's nice to see how the merest bit of fact-checking obliterates any claim to authenticity she has as a candidate. Nice but scary.

In saner times this would be proof enough that McCain has lost all perspective by her nomination, and still we are treated to articles decrying her, (mostly fictitious), elitist treatment in the press. Her candidacy is a fraud and anyone who says otherwise is a charlatan or an out and out fool.

So THAT"S where all those crap letters come from...

Although I've got to question the ethics of the letter-writer, I question more the integrity of the "editors" who print this doggerel.

Original article: "As Putin rears his head"

Man, now I'm just embarrassed...

...and I'm starting to feel bad for her even though it showed really dumb judgment on her part to think that she could just fake her way through this. But really, at this point anyone who thinks this dog can hunt is delusional. And you are right. John McCain should be ashamed of himself...on many levels. all of this looks good for Obama overall, but a new kind of weariness is setting in with me as I am beginning to realize what a sack of woe is awaiting the next administration.
