Scenario 1: Barack Obama picks Hillary Clinton for VP and they win; she will then have (hopefully) two terms to prepare for her run for Prez in 2016.
Scenario 2: Barack Obama doesn't pick Hillary Clinton as his VP and he loses; she will then have a clear shot at 2012.
As a Clinton supporter, I'd rather that Scenario 1 occur.
With his tissue-paper thin resume, Barack Obama can hardly choose a VEEP who outshines him; so, the choice of an unknown candidate...Strickland, Sibelius, Webb, et al...would seem to be a safer choice for him.
God knows, we can't have a VEEP that outshines the Prez, now, can we?
So...for the sake of "The Party", I'm supposed to vote blindly for Obama, right? I'm supposed to suspend my negative judgement of him that caused me to support another candidate simply because his supporters will call me a racist/a closet Republican/a fascist/a sore loser or whatever? Oh, well.
My moral precepts disallow political expediency from trumping ethical principle; I'd rather lose and be right than win and be wrong.

Mac...
When I played in Little League, Pop Warner and other youth sports organizations, they taught us that, not only should we lose with grace and good-sportsmanship, we should be gracious winners, as well. Gloating and nyah-nyah-nyahs were considered poor sportsmanship.
Invariably, I've found too many avowed Obama supporters who never learned how to be good winners. That tends to leave a bad taste in one's mouth as well as resentment.
They continue to do so at their own peril.
I wanted to thank you, a typical core Obama supporter, for posting so much of your childish, drooling drivel in support of your candidate. It simply reinforces my initial judgement of him...and his supporters.
Thanks, again, for not disappointing.
Since you've proven yourself to be no more than a pathetic and ignorant troll with no redeeming social value, you're now on permanent "ignore"; flame away. You won't get a response.
You'll just have to talk with yourself or play with yourself; come to think of it...those are one and the same.
You asked a serious question and I'll give you a serious answer. You asked why I preferred Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama.
I like Hillary's experiences over the last 35 years of public service...particularly her work on behalf of children, I like her healthcare proposal better than either other candidate, I like her overall maturity, I find her to be charming personally, I like the additional 14 or so years of "life experience" she has on Senator Obama and I love her passion and fire for America and the job ahead. None of that demeans Mr. Obama; I just like the total package that is Hillary Clinton better.
I have total confidence in how she would handle the crises we have today and the ones sure to come; in short, I think she would be a better President than anyone else.
Thats my judgement, based on twenty years of being involved in politics professionally and personally. That's why I believe that we need her to lead us.
Thanks for asking a serious question respectfully.
I didn't say that Obama was bereft of ideas, enthusiasm or idealism...I just like the way that Hillary approaches the issues you raised better. She is more wary of dealing with our enemies, is more pragmatic when it comes to the resolution of that Iraq mess and is tougher, imho, towards those who would do us harm.
I find Obama to be a bit naive in some areas when it comes to foreign policy...a naif, if you will. John McCain and his evil minions will be pounding that one home ad infinitum.
Again, I do not for a minute suggest that Obama is unpatriotic, stupid or incompetent; he simply strikes me as broadly unprepared to be President from day one. That ill-prepared-for-leadership state of Mr. Obama could have been cured by two terms/eight years of being Hillary Clinton's VP.
That's my opinion...no more, no less.
To expand on your comments about the misogynistic cretin that John Mccain is, he once called his wife a "c*nt" to her face and in front of witnesses. You really can't have any respect for a man who so thoroughly and so publicly would demean a woman that way.
If you doubt this account, you are free to Google it; the sordid details are all over the net.
Could you please take out the garbage? 99.9% of the posters here add thought-provoking commentary; however, that miniscule .1% simply adds foul and fetid fecal matter to otherwise interesting dialogues.
Please take out the "truth-machine" garbage; its waaay past its "freshness date"...if it ever had any.

Thanks...
After watching Hillary's magnificent farewell to her Presidential campaign, replete with her congratulations to and generous offers of assistance for Barack, I remain convinced that she is a woman of class, dignity and purpose.
Even though I will consider backing Barack, as Hillary asked us to do, it will take longer to be able to have any respect for the Obama trolls who lurk here, there and throughout the blogosphere, spewing their own particular venom, fecal matter and detritus toward Hillary.
Hillary's speech yesterday showed that she, indeed, has "class"; most of Obama's backers have little to none. That's why its going to be so damned difficult for me to get aboard the Obama train.
However, considering the awful alternative that is John McCain and his coterie of clowns, I may just have to hold my nose and board that train.
