Your frothing-at-the-mouth response, as an obvious Obamabot, is precisely what turned me off about him and his supporters. The shrill and shreiking "how dare you" attitude toward anyone who questions your candidate's ability or motivation is about as hypocritical and annoying as it gets.

Further, you can't even engage in a substantive debate about the issues; you simply call me names such as "moron"...and worse. You think that anyone who doesn't salivate at the Pavlovian bell that is the Obama-nation is somehow not worthy to even have an opinion or whose opinion is unacceptable.

Bulletin, sweetheart: my opinion of Barack Obama is as valid as yours is of Hillary Clinton. I may even vote for John McCain; I certainly do have that choice. The constant sniveling, sniping and snottiness of the Obamabots...such as yourself...only solidifies my opinion of you and your fellow minions.

My ace in the hole is that I have the financial wherewithal to have begun a 527...with more than a few like-minded advertising, broadcast and political friends...who also oppose the candidacy of Barack Obama.

Your venomous words, versus our extremely deep pockets, combined with our political, broadcast and advertising acumen, should make this a most satisfying summer and fall. Thank you for your words; they just gave me the impetus I needed to begin.

  • OBAMA AS PERMANENT "VICTIM"

I, for one, have long been tired of the fawning, obeisant and ass-kissing behavior toward Barack Obama, by some fellow Democrats, media colleagues and others within the political establishment who should know better. This sickening charade continues, unabated.

No matter what Obama says, does or elides from his "memory", he is lionized; Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is castigated and roundly booed for even bringing up Barack's documented gaffes, blatant mis-statements and on-going campaign trail mis-steps. He can do no wrong; she can do no right. That is bullsh*t, no matter how you parse it!

For several months now, I have warned my fellow Salonistas of the folly inherent in following blindly this Obama bandwagon from Hell. Obama's candidacy is doomed to fail; we are, therefore, doomed to wander through the political desert for another four years with McCain cracking the whip. It doesn't have to end this way, though.

Please read this article by Philadelphia "Enquirer" political columnist Kevin Ferris; it certainly underscored, for me, the core reasons why I view a Barack Obama candidacy as fraught with peril and perhaps destined for loss. Al Gore/2000, John Kerry/2004...Barack Obama/2008; the names may have changed, but, the outcomes remain the same.

  • I Actually Shook His Hand

[Read the article: The "bitter" vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Saturday, around midday, I was visiting friends in suburban Philadelphia and just happened to be in the same place as one of the Barack Obama "whistle-stops" on his campaign train. I found myself right near where he would alight from the train, so, I stayed around out of sheer curiousity. Jeez..what a mob!

Most here know I am a partisan Hillary Clinton supporter and have been highly critical of the candidacy of Senator Obama. I was wearing my Hillary Clinton button on my shirt, so, I figgured I'd be beaten, assaulted, or, at least, hectored out of the immediate area by a mob. (Kidding!)

When the train arrived at the Wynnewood station, Barack got off and walked straight toward the area where I was standing. Everyone was cheering around me; I was just taking it all in. As he walked down the rope-line, he spotted my "Hillary" button, grinned, stuck out his hand and shook mine and asked me for my vote. Just like that. He is charismatic, that's for sure. His message Saturday was pretty damned powerful, to be fair.

I'm still going to vote for Hillary in the primary, but, should Barack end up as the nominee of the party, I don't think I'm going to have any hesitation in voting for him. That's a change for me, for sure.

Just thought I'd share my first-person experience...

  • Good grief!

Yes. We Democrats are a fractious party. We encompass diverse and divergent races, ethnicities, sexualities, economics, levels of education and backgrounds. We sometimes squabble, as siblings are wont to do, over the smallest and most seemingly insignificant things.

However, unlike our Republican opponents, we do not march in locked goose-step, we don't challenge another's patriotism if they don't agree with us and we don't claim that God is on our side alone.

You know, all things considered, I'd rather be a fractious Democrat than an anal-retentive Republican. The freedom to be "us" is amazing.

You wrote: ""An average of 18 military veterans kill themselves each day, and five of them are under VA care when they commit suicide, according to a December e-mail between top VA officials that was filed as part of the federal lawsuit." -- So sayeth the wire service."

Gary, would I be entirely too cynical to say that the fewer veterans they have to deal with the fewer veterans they have to deal with? Suicide beats good old-fashioned neglect every time.

Uncle Sam lately has been entirely too eager to send our men and women into harm's way but entirely too slow to help them, if at all, when they have been harmed.

Who are these VA docs/administrators and how did they escape being prosecuted at Nuremberg?
