@ Tired-esin

You wrote: "AnaHadWolves...Thanks for intimating that Obama is a Muslim. It really, really builds up respect for your candidate to appeal to xenophobia.-- Taliesan"

Umm, dude...

"Hussein" is his middle name. There's no dispute about that. I never mentioned Islam in any way in the post, did I? You must be the spawn of Kreskin to come up with that one.

Oh...I forgot: you're a 20-something slacker who lives at home with Mommy and Daddy (as you wrote about yourself in a previous post) who has sooo much life-experience that you have an opinion on EVERYthing and your opinion is the only one that counts.

Typical Y-Gen bullshit...

@ Taleisin

Your "argument" is sound...distorted sound, actually, that sounds no better with the volume turned down.

Dude, if your pathetic manifesto above is an example of the typical, so-called college-educated, slacker, 20-something mind-set...we are all in deep shit viz-a-viz the future of this country. Your rambling "English" is punctuated with verb-subject disagreements, sentence fragments and run-on sentences, while the "reasoning" contained within the screed is as fuzzy as your point(s).

Now, be a good l'il slacker-bot, eat your Choco-Flakes, wash 'em down with AMP or RedBull...and, try, try again; you know I'll be waiting for your next installment of "Taliesan Tumescence".

Heh.

Nobama; No Thank You

With the apparent ascendancy of Barack Obama in the Democratic party, I find myself...as do many of my friends...in unfamiliar territory: unwilling to support the apparent nominee of our party. I find that I am far from alone, either; talk among my extended group of friends, family, co-workers and party activists is fairly consistent about Barack Obama. We don't feel motivated to support him with our time, money or votes.

That's not to say that we feel he is a bad man, duplicitous or malevolent; the general consensus is simply that he (a) isn't well-qualified enough...yet, and, (b) speaks in grandiose generalities of feel-good aphorisms rather than in hard specifics with concrete solutions to the myriad problems facing us. Sorry, Obama supporters, thats how we perceive him...based on his persona, speeches and political ads.

The choices, as we see them, are to sit this election out and let McCain possibly win, thereby giving us another opportunity in 2012 for a viable Democratic candidate or actively supporting McCain, so he will win, and then working hard for the 2012 election cycle with a new Democratic candidate.

Many Republicans say they're going to "hold their noses" and vote for McCain; many of my friends and I are not willing to compromise our principles, though, to vote for Senator Obama.

That's how strongly we feel...

Living In 21st Century Amerika

Because of the Surveillance State of Amerika, circa 21st century, my friends and I are fighting back whenever and wherever we can, to wit:

1) We pay with cash rather than with credit or debit cards.

2) We use the cash lanes of the expressways, tunnels and bridges rather than use easily-trackable EZ Pass transponders.

3) We use disposable cell-phones, bought by cash, and pre-loaded with cash infusions.

4) We use supermarket customer cards but only by using faux names; we get the discounts, but, the names are ficticious.

5) We use mass-transit that doesn't require identification to travel from point "A" to point "B".

6) We use public phones to call other public phones to talk.

7) We use computers at the public library, at Kinko's and at other anonymous venues.

Are we doing anything illegal to warrant such caution? Absolutely not; we're just making it harder for the government to track our perfectly legal activities.

Paranoia? No...reality.

Cold, Hard Truth

On this single occasion, I rejoice with writer Sheff on the recovery of his son.

However, I would be remiss if I didn't offer some cold and hard truth as balance: illegal drugs, such as meth or coke/crack, show a conscious desire for a narcotic effect and not a medical benefit that most drugs possess. Marijuana for AIDS or cancer patients, however illegal, is a legitimate medical treatment while meth, coke or crack aren't.

Nature has a way of weeding out the weakest of the species so that the strongest survive. Drug-abusers die at a higher rate than non-drug-abusers, so, who's to say that this isn't nature's weeding-process at work?

Making It Simple

Simply stated...

I like Hillary Clinton...her positions, her accomplishments, her plans for the country, her idealism and her intelligence.

I don't like Barack Obama...his positions, his dearth of solid accomplishments, his lack of concrete plans for the country ("Change!" doesn't count as "plans"), his naivete and his "slickness". (Bill "Slick Willy" Clinton could take lessons from this guy.)

You are free to vote for whomever you wish for whatever reason(s) you decide; I'll not be voting for Senator Obama for the reasons listed above. They're my opinions...and, that's my vote.

The Obamanista cultists will, most likely, now weigh in with their plaintive wails. Enjoy drinking the Kool-Aid, y'all...
