  • The Bottom Line Is The Bottom Line

[Read the article: The dark truth about Blackwater]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Make no mistake, the Bush Maladministration's pals and buddies are profiting handsomely from military contracts generally and the Iraq/Afghanistan/Future-Iran-War specifically. Whether its a military contractor such as Halliburton-KBR, Blackwater as a State Department mercenary force or a sub-contractor with strong White House ties, follow the money-flow; you'll be at the nexus of the Republican Party and their ilk.

Rather than strive for "morality" and "ethics", the Republicans honor "profit", "graft" and "corruption" to the total detriment of America's future. In short, the Republicans have lost their souls...and their way.

Mammon, i.e. material wealth of questionable ethics, was called in ancient times the work of the Devil. Republicans beat their breasts while claiming to be "good Christians", yet, the Apostle James wrote that "faith without works is dead" (James 2:20, KJV). Seems that with their manifesto of profit at all costs, the Republicans only knowledge of Christianity is how to spell it...and, how to exploit it.

Evil dressed up as sanctimony is still evil.

  • Two Points

[Read the article: For Rush, a warm Republican embrace]

First, the Representative is from the state of Georgia; second, he's a Republican.

    'Nuff said.

  • Marriage Of Religion & Politics and Their Bastard-Children

[Read the article: Religious right may blackball Giuliani]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So...the CNP is an unabashed amalgam of political and religious "leaders" who have merged the two entities into one single force? And, their membership is a "closely-held secret"? Further, they seem to feel as if they are "ordained" to control the direction of the United States, its policies and its activities? To quote Robbie the Robot: "Danger, Will Robinson, danger!"

If there were ever a bigger alarm bell ringing, signaling that our nation is at risk of becoming a totalitarian theocracy under these mullahs of morality, then, this would be it!

Actually, the best thing for the US and our future as a nation is for the final fracture to take place between Christian activists and the Republican Party. It would be good for the Republican party; it might even push them back to being the "Party of Lincoln" instead of the "Party of George Lincoln Rockwell." (Google him, if you don't remember him)

Senator John McCain actually had it right in the 2000 election when he referred to the Religious Right as "agents of intolerence"; too bad, then, that he lost his honor when he practically kissed Jerry Fallwell's rear-end by declaring fealty and blind obeisance to them, in this election cycle, in a disgusting attempt to gain their blessings.

I'm not embarassed to be a Christian; I am embarassed at some who call themselves Christian. They are the ones that debase and demean that good name.

  • Schadenfreude? Epicaricacy? All That..And, So Much More

[Read the article: James Dobson's Rudy problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

To say that I am gleeful about the conundrum in which the "values voters" now find themselves is an understatement of monumental proportions. The Devil's toxic brew of politics, religion and morality has always been a dangerous mix and now looks to be a fatal one. Hopefully.

Since 1980, when George Herbert Walker Bush abandoned his long-held values as a middle-of-the-road moderate Episcopalian to embrace the bastardocracy of Jerry Fallwell's "Moral majority" in order to be "acceptable" as Reagan's Mini-Me, the Republican Party has been an adjunct of the Religious Right. Today, the master has become the slave with the Religious Right dictating the candidates that are "acceptable" to them and their ilk. Millions of dollars in revenue via television are at stake.

Now, that same Religious Right, in a pathetically egregious manner, has demanded that the Republican Party adhere to their precepts and kowtow to them instead of the American people. That devil's brew of politics plus religion is about to blow up in all their faces. I, for one, have waited twenty-seven years to see this explosion and implosion.

I can't wait to see the Religious mullahs of morality hatch a new party...the Self-Flaggelating Opus Dei Party of Jesus. Too bad that no one except Brothers Dobson, Vigurie and Wildmon will be sufficiently saintly to belong to it.

A pox on all their houses...

  • Division Within The Gay/Lesbian Community

[Read the article: How did the T get in LGBT?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Friends of mine who happen to be Gay or Lesbian cringe when the ubiquitous video of various Gay Pride parades runs on national network TV, local outlets, and, to be sure, on the Religious Right/Religious Fundamental channels showing men in leathers & feathers and dykes on bikes, as it were.

The gay guys/lesbian gals I know wear clothing from Brioni to Lauren and from LL Bean to Hilfiger: no leathers/feathers for the guys, no butch b*tch outfits for the women and, absolutely NO drag for either sex. You couldn't pick any of them out of a crowd as gay or lesbian, at all.

Bottom line, the people with whom I work, are my neighbors and are my friends and who are gay/lesbian, look just like anyone else. And, they are as embarassed by the drag-queens, leather-lovers and diesel-dykes as anyone else.

That division within the gay/lesbian community isn't being addressed, but, you can bet is very much there.

  • Ummm...

[Read the article: Israel's rising right wing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Don't they already have Right-Wing Israelis? Don't they call them Zionists?

The late Rebbe Meir Kahane seemed to be a leader of that ilk...unless I missed something.
