Transcedental hoo ha...

It’s always a good day when religionists, especially the airhead New Age reality is unreal variety, take it up the ying yang. In this case, via the exposure of that plagiaririzing pussy hound, Carlos (Wanna See My Etchings?) Castaneda.

The sixties/seventies were full of talented transcedentantalizing scam artists cum pussy hounds cum gurus, big and small, preying on bored middle class wankers living off their parents and/or selling flowers on the corner to keep the master in gold plated Rolls Royces. They did get a lot of pussy, though, no question.

As to atheism being a religion, nice try. Atheists don’t have to prove anything since there’s nothing to prove. It’s religionists who have to prove, let’s take it down a notch, support, their bullshit. They can’t, of course, which is why they invented the word, faith. As in, leap of faith into the nagual. As in, OK, now that you’ve seen my etching, take a leap and fuck off.

Lol!

they are neocons, pure and simple

Media hacks, print and broadcast, lied before the Iraq invasion because all, or almost all, are necons, crypto or otherwise. Broder/Kurtz, Krauthammer, and Goldberg are exactly the same, for the same reason.

They play the same game with Syria and Iran, for one reason only. They want what was done to Iraq done to these counries as well.

For the political media to be otherwise is not an option. They will do what they did, beginning with playing dumb and innocent.

aspens

Judith Miller's, Charles Krauthammer's, Willam Safires's "motives" are the real mystery in American political reporting. Whatever were they thinking, and why?

Aspens, roots and all.

gift horse

Right on cue, the neocon smear artists make an appearance.

And right on cue, the kneejerk "left" demands perfection, and peers long and hard into the mouth of a gift horse.

Pathetic, but what is to be expected.

The neocons will never forgive the referral by the CIA (Tenet) of Plame's outing, and subsequent conviction of one of their major panjandrums. Naming names, of course, is verbotten in their long campaign to establish general amnisia re their role in the Iraq invasion.

value

The value of Tenet is not to those that know, but to those that do not know yet, or those that suspect but do not read closely, blogs or the political media.

It is confirmation and finger pointing directly at the neocons, geared to an audience that the neocons cannot afford to have errode by the likes of the former DCIA.

This is the value of all Bush defectors, and this is the reason the neocons spend so much time smearing them.

I have no brief for Tenet, but I do see value in his book and the audience to which it is aimed. The left, IMO, by being so dogmatic in rejecting him, is shooting themselves in the foot.

substance

Well, I partly agree with you. I've just reread Johnson's open letter to Tenet, and he's persuasive, to say the least. But I don't agree that Tenet's book has no value, or doesn't harm the neocons. Otherwise they wouldn't be smearing him now because they cannot afford his potential audience.

Tenet should have kept his mouth shut re. honor. The least he could have done, apart from falling on his sword and led an open revolt, which he would have lost anyway, is not have accepted that medal from Bush.

Consequences don't matter

Neocons don't care for consequences to the US (of the Iraq invasion, of potential attacks on Syria, Iran) because they have achieved their goal: the destruction of Iraq. The reason consequences (financial, political, military) don't matter is because the security of Israel has been achieved via the destruciton of Iraq, in the foreseeable future at least. All that remains is to make sure that destruction is permanent (no timetable for withdrawal, etc).

Same for Syria and Iran: consequences to the US are immaterial to the neocons. Israel will benefit, and that's all that matters of Lieberman, AIPAC, the NYT/WaPo, and so on.

When Wolfowitz was selling the Iraq invasion to Congress, he lied through his teeth about the cost of the invasion and about the number of troop needed to occupy. Because he's an idiot? No. Because he didn't care. He got what he wanted.

Bipartisanship

Lieberman, Schumer, Feinstein...know exactly what they're doing, and why. This is the price of neocon "bipartisanship" wherein you scratch my Zionist back and I'll scratch your (and mine)..Corporate back. And if one of us stops the mutual cornholling, look out.

Bipartisanship at its blackmailing best.

Sayonara, America.

Pander

...to the Israel Firsters via Podhoretz, pander to the Christers via Robertson. Sends just the right message to the media, election funders, and the "base". Of course the WoPo will label him a moderate. Wouldn't expect anything else. And there will be lots more where that came from.

Israeli reaction

For some reason, this item isn't getting much, if any, play in the Western media; from Reuters India.

- Israel believes Iran restarted nuclear arms work -

The Guardian published it overnight, but this morning, it's been replaced by this

I had no idea that Israeli generals and politicians were so concerned with America's oil supply. Who knew. And it's a good thing America has the Podhoretzes the Kristols the Pollacks of this world to look after its energy interests in the Middle East.

You learn something every day.
