Alissa Torres is not alone in her frustration of not knowing the truth of 9/11. Eight years of waiting for an honest investigation to reveal what actually occured in that fateful attack has traumatized millions of Americans into creating their own havens of belief and resolution. The New York City Can survivors and widows initiative for reopening the investigation will be on the city's November ballot unless it too is destroyed by cover-up agents. It needs the support of all truth-seekers. That ballot may be our nation's last hope of restoring belief in our founding democratic principles. NYCCAN.ORG
As self-proclaimed political leaders go, one Lieberman seems much another. At least the Israeli Lieberman is up-front with his intentions, bad as they are. Our Lieberman remains as secretive and un-trustworthy as ever.
Saving is definitely a good thing. Anyone over 65, other than the wealthiest Cheneys of the country, worries about having enough savings to see them through the hard times of old age. BUT, when the unsupported US money the Fed prints and we save is guaranteed by a failing FDIC and the obviously upcoming deflation will probably diminish savings more than any market-crash, what's left for a patriotic saver to do?
Why "such a jerk"? If it walks like a duck and thinks like a duck it must be jerk. What else is new?
With so much dirty money from war profiteering stashed offshore, the departing Veep might try fishing for piranha, his most-closely related species. And god-willing fall in.
Please Garrison, reconsider your suggestion of a presidential pardon for neocon criminals. Some crimes aren't forgiveable..declaring illegal war..profitting from the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents..inventing terrorism by creating animosity against us worldwide. We need trials and convictions; not free passes to the corporate spa.
Preaching patriotic reinvestment in our once upstanding nation by finding an upstanding growth-prone corporation to support while awaiting America to be born-again is fine for the young and restless. But it's not reassuring for a retiree approaching 80 aware that bankers and corporate corruption make the rules, aware that the Federal Reserve (FDIC, i.e.) is about as "federal" as FedEx, and that the dumbing down of voters schooled by News Corp and Fox will not change our downward course for at least a decade.
I'll continue to await advice on where to best invest in revolution.
Corporate money and it's malicious use of media has prevailed once more. By threatening the Kucinich congressional re-election campaign in Ohio, war profiteers have finally beaten America's last hope for honest government into withdrawing as a candidate for president. Barring his patriotic dissent from national debate was not enough. They now proceed to silence his voice from national politics altogether. It makes small difference which CNN/DNC-approved 'front-runner' wins to continue rearranging the deck chairs aboard our fast-sinking ship of state. American democracy and the dignity of the American people down will eventually go down with it. We have been taken one step closer to revolution.
If Dennis Kucinich, a true voice for the American people had been included in the Las Vegas debate, all the back-slapping ho-ho-ho exchange pro-war business-as-usual bullshit would not have occured. For Walter Shapiro to opine that the last minute ruling of the Nevada Supreme Court to keep Kucinich out 'just before airtime' was 'wisely' done is the sort of commentary that makes me skeptical of all Salon reports. It certainly wasn't wise in terms of providing an honest debate for American voters.
Ron Paul, obviously on well-funded mission to side-track voters from Dennis Kucinich, the real peace candidate, is a definitive Karl Rovean masterpiece. I expect he'll also be touting invisible birth control pills before the primary.
Rudy's handlers had better do some close screening of those invited to this political photo-op.
Hundreds of thousands of families lost deeply because of the 9/11 conspiracy. The vast majority of them can't wait to bring the truth of responsibility to light.
Gee gosh, it's just a theory, but wasn't Giuliani in league with the plotters? Why else would he have rented an entire floor of the North Tower as his "backup bunker" and then leave it empty, closed off, and available for the controlled demolition crews who actually were responsible for planting the Thermite that "pulverized" the building and its occupants?
Sid, Sid. How could any candidate on the corporate payroll, dauntless or not, change anything that the neo-cons have wrought? What difference does it make who wins if the drum-beat of war goes on? We need a velvet revolution, a new New Deal, or a truly honest candidate who speaks for the people instead of the bankers, to get American voters out their "great depression". Check out www.dehp.net/candidate to see who you should be backing old boy.
Salon, I bbeg you: Wake up and smell the Foxy-News diversion of such gossipy articles. Please stop being twitty and stay with the nitty-gritty. With so much more to consider than gender-prowess in this important pre-election period, it is explicitly clear that Elizabeth Kucinich exceeds them all in presenting the only sane solutions for recovering what's left of our trashed democratic republic.
Ronald Reagan in his recently published diaries, wrote on May 17, 1986:
"A moment I've been dreading. George (Bush Sr.) brought his
neer-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work."
One by one, the Rat Pack falls, but unpunished of course. Cheney gnaws further back into the bunker as Condi and Wolfi cringe that they might be next.
Amen.
