Dyspeptic Lawyer, yes, it was Graeme Frost, who was the poster child for why we needed to expand the SCHIP program. They made him and his family into welfare cheats. It was sick. I linked in my first post about Ty'Sheoma because I thought they'd do that. But Rush and Malkin, who were part of it, are super busy, so it's only the illustrious Washington Times. It could be so much worse. But it's still despicable.

Thanks for showing up. As I think I eventually admitted in the Bagram thread, I simplified the issues there -- but I still think Obama probably did the wrong thing. But your points were essential do understanding the complexity, so thank you for hanging in there.

Readerreader, I do lose patience with you, but I mostly appreciate your hanging in to debate. Yes, she is rural and African American. And I'm not sure what the duplex means, I think from slavery through Jim Crow to today blacks were consigned to much less spacious and autonomous living quarters, that goes without saying. I'm not sold on the answer being single family housing; I live in a condo, and I think more dense, well designed housing is going to be the answer, lessening our dependence on foreign oil, pulling cities and suburbs together, forcing us to reckon with one another. But you may have a different idea.

The Unlovely Truth, you were answered, quite well, way upthread. Did you miss it? I wish you luck with your hostility, you're carrying around a lot of anger.

BTW, I write about race all the time, and I sign my real name. Who are you calling a coward?

The Unlovely Truth, this is my last time answering you. My God, a lowly senator, and then a presidential candidate, and then this president, goes and visits one of the worst equipped schools known to mankind. Not a hedge fund, not an Ivy League University, not a rich corporation, an awful, God-forsaken school. And then you try to depict those visits as some kind of scam. I do think the after-effects of your own poor education are lingering here. This is my last answer. I think you are a type of troll that for now I will simply not talk back to, but eventually I could ban. Because this is frankly b...aloney.

The Unlovely Truth, you're someone I will ignore for now, not ban. I think your inability to really understand why a senator who cares about public schools would show up here, besides political theater, is sad. But carry on.

Original article: The shame of Michael Steele

From Joan Walsh

Buckeyejia, let me think about it. The reason I think Rush's appearance is fair game is because he's so cruel to other people, whether "feminazis" or saying Hillary couldn't be president because nobody wants to watch a woman grow old. Sometimes I think you have to turn the tables. I also think his particular appearance at CPAC was newsworthy -- he really is gigantic now, which indicates some kind of imbalance, and he was in fact sweaty and kind of manic, bouncing up and down during his hour-plus speech. weird. Given his illegal drug history -- and let's be clear, he's not a warrior to abolish or make fair our drug laws, and if he was black or poor his transgressions could have landed him in jail -- his overall health and comportment seem relevant to the job he's seeking as leader -- or destroyer, not sure -- of the Republican party.

But it feels small to me too. I'll try to give it a rest.

Did you read my answer, Calif Mike? Ms. Taken made some added points. It's probably beneath me. I'll try to aim at his mind -- until his next, almost inevitable, drug tragedy.

No problem, Faulkner Jr., Ty'Sheoma Bethea is more important than Rush Limbaugh.

The Michael Moore comparison is unfair to Moore and the Democrats...I don't remember a single Democrat ever talking about Moore as a party leader, or ever apologizing to him for a slur; he's an outside agitator who's played a mostly good role, but he's not invited to mainstream Democratic events and absolutely no one kisses his ring. Even we've been critical of Moore -- and we've never felt frightened enough to apologize, unless we're wrong. There is simply no Democratic Rush....and there never could be.

Hi rockybalboa, I really do appreciate your trying to communicate, as much as I disagree, and occasionally you and I do agree. But I would urge you not to call Obama obie, it's really just dumb. If you'd like me to routinely call Limbaugh Limpballs, and Boehner Boner, well, I won't, because I think it's beneath me. Let's talk ideas, and people's ideas, let's leave the diminishing nicknames alone.

Listening, virtue001?

Jonathanseer, thank you, but I'm home in my jammies now -- who can see how much hotter and younger I am? You're scaring me, a little....kidding. But I'm gonna close the blinds.
