It is just another aspect of a woman being with a perceived 'badass', yet that person is 'their badass'.
It is actually (IMO) sorta like the young men/women who have rottweilers or presa canarios or wolves for pets (I guess big cats would work too, but usually you can't walk around with a lion on a leash even if you have all the permits), 'look at this killer animal that I control & that loves me. You, he'll rip out your throat, but me he'll roll over so I can scratch his belly'.
In the video I was watching they were blurring out the 'bad parts'.
I do think that we who eat meat need sometimes to see the way the meat animals are dispatched. If that's disturbing, I can guarantee you it was more disturbing for the turkeys.
I too would like to see a transcript of the interview. 'Palinspeak' is so funny.
ConstantReader1000 said up above somewhere: 'I would give 500 to 1 odds that this girl has already seduced and initiated a sexual relationship with the writer's husband.'
'500 to 1' odds would mean there is a very low possibility of what you gave the odds against happening.
I think what you mean would be something like '1 to 10' odds or 'better than even money'.
Just getting my daily pendanticness out ;-)
Excellent suggestions by the posters. Sounds like a very serious problem to me.
He won't pardon any of them (his torturers, CIA enablers, Yoo, etc.), because when you are pardoned you can't invoke your 5th Amendment right when being questioned about what you were pardoned for.
That's why he didn't pardon Libby. Libby can still take the 5th, even after his sentence was commuted.
and this makes me spitting mad. It's about the 4,325th thing this sad, pathetic excuse for an administration has made me spitting mad about.
Jan 20th, 2009 cannot get here soon enough.
I hope Elephantman or some other kissass for Bush educates us as to why it makes perfect sense to stiff wounded vets. I doubt he'll show up in this thread though.
but I don't think this chap lives in the United States.
Do you type all your posts individually or do you cut & paste from previous posts or other written comments you may have stored somewhere?
Man, do you put out the copy.
IMO, if your fiance left you because you had lost all your money & were feeling down, then maybe she wasn't a keeper anyway. Best to find that out before the vows are exchanged.
for a top quality movie would be the outlaw Ned Kelly. I think some movies were done back in the late 60s (and maybe a TV movie), but having read about him & the way things were in late 19th century Australia, I would be more interested in a good movie about those times.
Any comments from real Australians?
who uttered this graner: 'I find that those who now criticize Bush's appearance in a flight suit are overwhelmingly sissies like Glenn Greenwald who have never spent a day in uniform.'
I proudly spent 4 years in the uniform & I lambasted him (Pres. Batshit Bananas) when it happened. You may check my cache of letters, I don't have the time to waste on you to do it, but believe me it's in there.
Given that you seem to like the brass strutting around like 'Topgun' & fucking up everyone's day (all the fuss & bother that goes along when a big boy deigns to visit your post), I wonder if you ever served yourself. If you did, I'm sure you must have been quite a suckup.
I must say that you have very few typos in your numerous and lengthy posts. A lot fewer than I have in mine.
Better (IMO) than most of klytus' (says Biggun's minion).
I might have tried rhyming Kentucky with shmucky.
I hope you realized my post rhymed too.
I had forgotten about the Heath Ledger movie. I remembered the Mick Jagger one, though.
I'll have to rent it (the Ledger one).
You know I don't usually agree with you, but well said.
I personally would like to have a whole bunch of people in Graner's chain of command either in Leavenworth for the rest of their lives, or hung.
You & I know that isn't going to happen. Graner, however, is paying a price for his malicious & dishonorable conduct. The story is about him (and his family) & I think most commenters are focusing on whether or not we should have any 'sympathy' for him.
Whether we do or not doesn't change the fact that his superiors knew and approved of how he & others ran the prison.
As an ex-military officer the 'briefings' you attended would have disgusted me as well. It is clear to me that this horrible administration has put its stain on the officer corp & Pres. Obama will need to ferret out the undesirables & remove them before they can do more harm to our military.
liked the way Barry used 'balanced' in his comments on the NBC memo he reviewed.
I bet he sniggered when he wrote that.
Great job, Glenn.
maybe we should look into reinstating it. Sure seems they think the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine was good for their side.
if the pirates have excellent ear protection?
Also, you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
Quote from the article: '"How can you not love someone who writes 'medicine is magical/ and magical is art/ think of the boy in the bubble/ and the baby with the baboon's heart?'
I always thought that line ended with 'and the baby with the babbling heart' (ha, ha). Never read the liner notes, obviously.
I actually thinks it works better with my lyric.
I do like Carrie Fisher. She seems down-to-earth.
The same thing happens in the entertainment industry (especially in movies/TV). I expect the dynamics are similar.
for sussing out the correct lyrics. Also, a shout-out to CE, who misinterprets lyrics just like me :-)
