Always Anti-Choice, angelbug

who said this about McCain: 'Having said all that, though, he used to be pro-choice - and my main complaint with his stance is that he changed it for political purposes, just as he voted against his own immigration bill when it became a political liability to him during the primaries.'

He has never changed his stance on abortion. He has always opposed it being a legitimate medical procedure.

You are correct, however, on his changing his immigration stance.

it's about fucking time...

Above comment supposed to go in Lieberman thread (sheepish grin)

Apologies from a UK Grad

I'm very embarrased by whatever drunk, racist asshole(s) (probably a KA) did this stupid deed. I fervently hope they are caught (and I think they will be, those types just can't keep quiet about how daring they are).

I know the faculty & 90 percent of the student/alumni body are mortified. The other 10% can fuck off.

Original article: Chas(te)ing cash

Sounds Like RW Welfare

$2 million bucks to some Xian agency that will pay big salaries to the owners/managers & maybe throw some of that money to the doofuses that sign up.

Same ole same ole for the last 8 years.

Original article: Talking to Sarah Palin

Campaign High

She's so full of herself right now. Leading the McCainshirt rallies etc. that she just expects world leaders to call her & either congratulate her or ask her advice or suck up to her in some way.

She has a bigger ego than Bush Jr. You may say 'how could that be? He thinks he's the Caesar of the age'. Just remember, Bush before being elected hadn't suceeded at anything on his own (Rove & his daddy's Texas wheeler dealers got him elected gov. of Texas). The Wasilla Wonder has actually accomplished a few things on her own (beauty pageants, TV job landed on her own merits, Mayor to governor, etc.) She is totally convinced she can do no wrong.

Just the kind of ambitious schemer I'd want as my VP.

Original article: Winners and losers

You Left off the Loser's List

Lady VonRibbentrop or whoever it was that screeched about being for McCain because the Obama supporters were so mean to Hillary & then said 'Pres-Elect' (God, it feels sooo good to type that) was 'elitist' (which we all had a hell of a laugh about since she was a contessa or something).

You know, that one.

Agree with Cabdriver

It was all a BS charge to get Clinton, BUT when they had him cornered, he should have fessed up (while under oath).

That is not an impeachable offense (duh), but it was a stupid & venal choice he made at the time.

I also wish Pres. Clinton had resigned, as I think Mr. Gore (running as the incumbent pres.) might have overcome the forces against him & we'd have had a very different last 8 years (with Sen. Obama still getting elected pres. in 2008).

It's all Monday-morning-quaterbacking, however.

Cindy McCain - Trendsetter for 2275

Some 1 hit wonder up above thought Mrs. McCain was a fashion trendsetter. I thought most of her outfits looked like Hoverlander-Hostesswear from Battlestar Galactica. Or maybe businesswear from 'Gattica'.

Mrs. Obama looked fine to me.

Original article: Quote of the day

Good One, WES

I think you're on to something. In fact, I think McLame chose Palin because he thought he might get some of that half-baked Alaska himself.

Original article: Bad ending? You bet

Messed Up Ending

I couldn't believe they took the points off the board. All the laterals were completely legal & Polomalu picked up a live ball & ran it in for a TD.

I watched the replay a couple of times (when it happened) & turned the game off thinking an 11-10 score had still never happened.

Very embarassing for NFL.

Question for 'Twilight' Readers

If the vampire young man who likes Bella has a body that is literally supposed to be as 'hard as stone'. How come no one has bumped into him in a school hallway sometime & thus discovered this situation and then commented upon it & maybe then breaks a 2 x 4 over his arm to prove it, etc.?

From prior discussions in Salon about this series, I don't see how the young man in question is able to fade into the background of this HS so easily (no badgering from the vasrious coaches to come out for football/track, etc.). Why Bella is not being sabotaged & elbowed into the background by the HS 'Heathers' who would be gunning for this guy if he is as beautiful as the book says.

Original article: Should Obama chase Osama?

Agree with Pageiger

I think the SOB is still alive. I think Pres. Elect Obama thinks he is still alive. I want Osama Bin Laden dead.

I would like to take him alive to hopefully find out dirt on the alliance between House of Saud & House of Bush, but I wouldn't expect to capture him alive.

I don't know if money is the right vigorish for the people who he surrounds himself with. We need to find out exactly what it might take to have one of his inner circle betray him. Maybe we can find the right 'currency' for Pakistan & they can turn him over (secretly, of course. As it would be bad for the Pakistan govt. to be seen by it's fundy populace as having turned him in to us).

Original article: First lady got back

Point of the Article

to me was the author basically saying how glad she is that the first black man to be elected president does not have a wife who has a size 2 Jackie-O type of body or is actually a white woman (with a Jackie-O type of body).

Mrs. Obama is a fine looking mother of 2 kids & the author is very, very happy about that.

I personally think this is a very minor aspect of the coming Obama Administration that can certainly be commented on in Salon.

AARRRRRGGGGHH!!!!!!

That is all.

Thursday, November 20, 2008 07:52 AM

To jwryan

who asked: 'When was the last time you ever heard anyone comment on the physical attributes of a First Lady other than with the words "gracious", "lovely", "ladlike".'

I'm guessing you've never read any of the opinions/comments the right wing incessently gave about Mrs. Roosevelt?

Mrs. Kaplan's article is a gushing HS lovenote by comparision.
