'Stunt boobs'. Heh, I liked that turn of phrase.
As for Ms. Knightley, she looks fine to me.
Enjoyed reading all the funny posts.
Read another poster's excerpts of a discussion about sharia law. Didn't get enlightened much about the Iranian situation as the excerpts generally seemed to say there was no fault for the poor woman who was raped (see, the 11th Century wasn't all anti-woman).
Anyway, the only thing I can take away from the sad situation of Ms. Najjar is that an Iranian woman is supposed to resist to the death anyone who would force her into becoming a prostitute.
That may mean killing the person trying to force you (although I suspect if Ms. Najjar had gone that route she'd still be in a world of trouble).
Anybody else come away with that sense?
People burn calories at different ratios, depending upon their innate metabalisms. Some people can do a minimum of exercise & always look skinny (they may stroke out at age 60, but that's another story). Some people can just think about food & put on weight (if we all lived in arctic conditions, that's the body type you would want to have).
When you want to lose weight permanently, you have to look at it longterm. You have to say 'I'd like to get to this target weight in a year or so'. You then have to workout (and watch your calorie intake) just about every day. You also have to adjust your workouts, as you get in better shape.
When starting out, riding bike for 12 mins can be a killer workout. Do that for 2 months & it probably won't be much of a workout. Then you have to start riding more minutes, etc. etc.
I do like the Nike saying 'just do it'. Day after day (for an extended period of time) is what will get you in better shape.
I think the Obama campaign should look to what successful Democratic politicians like Pres. Roosevelt & Truman did when confronted by succrilous Republican lies.
They gave as good as they got. It was even more effective, because what they said about the Republicans was true (usually).
The McCain campaign is trying to define Sen. Obama. I think it is imperative that the Obama campaign perform its own defining of McCain. This should be done, however, by surrogates. Sen. Obama himself should never participate in the 'defining' process.
I don't want any site to know my browser history.
Mr. Ivins was one of those sources...
Anyone want to lay odds?
who said 'Sen Lieberman is your favorite Emmanuel Goldstein'
If we liberals are trying to make Lieberman into an 'Emmanuel Goldstein' character, he is sure making it easy for us, wouldn't you concede?
P.S. I think 'Ira Satan' would have been a better handle, fits in better with your whole persecution complex schmeil.
I think it would be cool to have a bronze statue somewhere down in a city sewer (New York?) of Art Carney's character. In one of the parts where there is some open space to sit it over in a corner (don't want him down in the crud).
Mr. Morris said: '"I have not seen anything that suggests that the 9/11 hijackers, or their supporters, where aware that the attack on The World Trade Center would actually bring the buildings down. They could not have known that, and the same would apply to the other targets, one of which was damaged but not destroyed.'
Osama Bin Laden is a trained engineer. He is said to be quite a good one. I am pretty sure that he had a good idea that if you run a large jetliner filled with aviation fuel into the middle of the building at 4 - 500 MPH, that bad shit would happen.
The way the WTCs were designed was open knowledge. I would infer he looked at building plans & saw how they were constructed (as opposed to say the Empire State Building, which is constructed more along the lines of a giant fortress).
Put me down as Bin Laden knew. Maybe his dupes didn't (probably didn't care, 72 virgins & all that), but he did.
Jeffersonian said about Pres Eisenhower: 'Ike told us, prophetically, about this military-industrial monster that has devoured our liberty, our treasure, and our precious international reputation.'
Pres. Eisenhower (while eons ahead of Bush/Cheney in just about every conceivable good catagory) only mentioned the above about a week before he completed his 8 year long presidency.
He also retired into playing golf & didn't seem to follow up too much on his prophecy.
I wish he had.
I haven't seen that interview. I now remember reading something along those lines sometime (I read so much stuff).
I guess if the SOB admits he didn't think they would come down, maybe he's telling the truth. Might be self-serving a little (if you wanted to mitigate your involvment in the loss of life, etc.).
He doesn't seem like the mitigating type, though. Thank's for your info.
No one has mentioned Drewerys, a very cheap beer from up North somewhere. I used to work at a scrap yard that would give it out to drunks who came by with scrap metal. Phieffers was another of the budget brews that my relatives stored for binge drinking.
Another 'good' one is Burger from Cinn. God, that was a taste experience.
I used to drink Jax down in NO. That one went away years ago.
Krogers at one time stocked a Cost Cutter brand of generic brew (can looked like the type of beer you'd see on a sitcom where they didn't want to give out free advertising to any real beer) that was pretty awful, but awfully cheap.
if you take steroids to gain an athletic advantage, you are a loser. A cheating, POS loser.
