Gettin Even (in a stupid way)

Could it be that these women (and men too) have had a bad experience sometime in past with a black man and/or woman (catcalls in street, parking lot dispute, etc. etc.) and are projecting their anger onto Sen. Obama & his wife?

Realistically, anyone who calls themselves 'Democratic' (as in a self-identifying member of the Democratic party) would have to be nuts (make that fucking nuts) to vote in Nov. for McLame.

If you like $4.00 gas, you'll love $9.00 gas under McLame.

Listen Up, Teensy

who said: 'It's much easier to conclude that I'm against unity in general, than it is to admit that your man can't deliver it (no one can). It's a nice idea. It hasn't been the outcome of his campaign so far, though, so what else have you got?'

We don't give a shit about 'unity' & don't think Sen. Obama can achieve it.

All we want is a sane person as president who will not be a stooge of the corporate kleptocracy that is sending us to hell in a handbasket (and charging us double for the freaking handbasket). Also, someone who won't be getting us into WW III with Iran would also be a plus (IMO).

Going to Mars - On Portugal's Dime

cagferreira mentioned up above that McLame is gung-ho for Mars & what a great thing that would be (I'm paraphrasing, of course).

IMO, I think all our 'Mars Trip Money' has been wasted in Iraq, so maybe Portugal can fund the Mars exploration (another great feather in the cap of one of history's formost exploring nations).

Think about it, Mr. Ferreira.

Nah, Nebris

who conjectured: 'welcomerain is brightstar65?'

BS65 isn't as much of a prick as this welcomerain asshole is. BS65 also CAPITALIZES various key words in his diatribes.

Occasionally BS65 will have excellent points. I feel I wasted the 2 minutes it took me to read welcomerain's spew of verbal shit.

I think welcomerain is either one of the pharmacists who makes these odious & unnecessary moral judgements vis a vis patients or he is a anti-choice fanatic who agrees with those pharmacists.

Way to Go, Celtics!

I was a Celtic fan back in the glory days of the 80s. Only became a fan, because that's where L. Bird ended up (I became a Bird fan watching the 79 NCAA). Sorta stopped being a fan once R. Lewis died. Have always hated the Lakers, though.

I'm really glad to see Kevin get his ring & R. Rondo play so well in the clinching game (ex UK player). Rondo had the LA guards scared to handle the ball.

Paul Pierce was the logical selection for MVP. In my mind, I have a picture of the all-time Celtics team. You have Red as coach, with KC Jones assisting. Sitting beside them are B. Russell, D. Cowans, L. Bird, K. McHale, S. Jones, P. Silas, J. Havlicek, D. Johnson, F. Ramsey, T. Archibald, B. Cousy, and now: Paul Pierce.

Celtic immortality is Paul's real prize.

Hitler was Worse

woodviolet commented: 'I also have to wonder that your metric for social change and advancement is that Hitler wasn't as bad as Genghis Khan. That is possibly true, but it's still not great news for six million Jews, plus Gypsies, gays, etc. But then I guess they weren't taking the long-range historical perspective.'

I think Genghis Khan was much better than Hitler. Genghis Khan grew up in a barbarian yurt on the back side of forever & lived in the 13th century.

Hitler was raised (albeit in a nasty home environment) in one of the most advanced 19th century countries.

Also, when Genghis Khan had some city slaughtered and razed to the ground is was in middle of a war & city had refused to surrender (small solace to those who had to go along with the idiots who refused to surrender, I'll concede). Hitler, just systemetically murdered innocents for being the wrong ethnicity.

That's my 10 cent take, anyway.

Thank's, namegoeshere!

Using your advice I was able to access Svutlana's website.

I recommend it to anyone, it's a real hoot.

Excellent advice, also.

You Said it, Cabdriver

who posted: 'For what it's worth, males who engage in risk-taking behaviors very often find that they have more success at attracting sexual companionship. That's especially the case when the behaviors are performative, either as physical feats of skill or as artistic endeavors.'

That's exactly why most all of them do it. Always exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking it's all about seperating oneself from the pack.

Hell Yeah!

That's the kind of response I've been looking for from a Democrat.

Why is the murderer of approx 3,000 Americans (as well as many other countries citizens) still smirking at us from his hideout in Pakistan?

The answer: Cheney/Bush & their Neocon enablers only thought about 9/11 as the excuse they'd been salivating for for years to unleash all their facist dreams.

Give em Hell, Barack!!

P.S. Any Republican trolls want to give me some shit about this? Bring it the fuck on.

Considering the Source

I agree with ololon's comments up above. The LW seems very vain.

Stupid Canadian

(apologies to all the smart Canadians whose letters I read here), but David (from Toronto) had this gem in his letter to CP: 'The Doors' only real American competition in this most American of art forms was the fair-haired Beach Boys.'

Ye gads, has the man never heard of Creedence Clearwater Revival, or Sly & the Family Stone, or Jefferson Airplane?!?!

I could go on & list another 4 or 5 tremendous American rock bands (including, of course, The Doors). It says something about Dave that he thinks The Beach Boys are the other great American rock band. The freaking Beach Boys aren't even the best surf band, IMO. Jan & Dean were better.
