Hey Kellygirl

I'll be back up in your neck of the woods come next St. James Art Fair (or before then, I sure like that portion of Louisville), but I wanted to comment on something you said: 'If they are only going to act like Republican Squared, why should I donate my time, money and energy to getting these clowns elected? I've yet to hear an answer and come November, I might just sit at home.'

Now as far as donating your time & money, if you feel like you do right now, don't. But make no mistake about it, Sen. McConnell wants you to stay at home in Nov. & if you do, he'll be cackling with glee.

You see the old SOB more than I do. Think about how happy he would be if a progressive voter like yourself stays home on election day (ick, I thought about it & I'll try to keep that picture out of my head).

It's a looong time to November. Please keep the faith.

RealName, Is that You?

are you now going by this '♀♀♂♀♀!'?

The posts under that moniker are about as lame as most of yours were. Might not be you, since the Jews weren't tied in to the posts.

The Logic of a Great Mind

BS65 declared: 'I love women. Thus, I do despise women who act like they hate men. I have been clear and consistent about this.'

How can you say you 'hate women who despise men', when they (the women who presumably despise men) are doing the same thing you are doing (hating)?!?!?

Can't a woman legitimately despise men?

You say you have a current squeeze. Has she seen your, uhm, oevre here cached in Salon?

Lowering Your Level of Stress

I do think it is very important for one's overall health to not accumulate too much stress. My 10 cent analysis would be that the 'suppressors' are maintaining a higher stress level & the bad results of that can been seen statistically.

Some of our more colorful posters here might actually be using these forums to 'blow off steam' and thus lower their stress levels.

Why Only Passive?

Tina Schrier said in relation to Brittany: 'Britney is very much at this stage now, and I believe the bloody undies flashed to "photogropers" is part of the same passive resistance she showed on TV not too long ago.'

Why would a multi-millionaire only engage in 'passive' resistance? You most definitely could be right here, but can you tell me why an adult, who presumably has control of their finances, etc., would be engaging in this type of 'resistance'?

Why doesn't she just tell em all to fuck Off & take her millions & get the Hell out of Dodge?

The Marketing Pause

Derbig Mooser asked: 'Stop the bickering and if either of you knows how to stop the telemarketing calls on my land line, please tell!'

Hey Moose, I don't know how to stop them from ever dialing your number, although when they talk to you & are recording the conversation, you might give them some legalase 'I, Jim Jones, do hereby demand that (entity they are representing) never call 999-999-9999 again'.

What I do is that I can recognize when it is a 'marketing call', because almost all of them employ what I call a 'ringer'. In this case, a ringer is a device/software that realizes when the marketeer is finishing up with the current call & makes the next call (the one you don't want to answer)while the marketeer is making their escape.

Thus, if you answer in the first couple of rings & immediately say 'hello' & get no response for a couple of seconds, that is a call using the device I outlined above. When I make that determination, I hang up the phone. On the few occasions I was wrong, the friend/relative immediately called me back.

Armstrong & Testosterone

One of the commenters up above mentioned Mr. Armstrong & said that he would have had to get testosterone injections if he had both nuts removed, instead of just one.

I'm pretty sure that the nut that remained was fried by the radiation & does not function as intended. Therefore, Mr. Armstrong has received testosterone injections since his bout with cancer.

Men with functioning gonads (athletes or nerds) experience natural flucuations of testosterone from day to day (one day it's higher, next day lower, etc.). Since Mr. Armstrong receives injections to give him his natural level of testosterone (deduced from when his nuts functioned), he never experiences the flucuations those of us who are still packing experience.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on what athletic advantages might occur if you never have testosterone flucuations? Was that something that aided Mr. Armstrong during his domination of the Tour (less chance of ever bonking in a stage)? Could the fact that he had only 1 nut help him stay more comfortable in the saddle (I ride a bike & my nuts/ass give out before my legs/lungs do)?

As for anabloic steroids, it is cheating (other competitors & anyone in the paying public looking for an honest athletic performance). Quaint, I guess, thinking about honesty in 2008.

Hey Amerigo

who asked in relation to my Armstrong/testosterone post: 'Do you have a source for this? I cannot find one.'

I don't use Google generally (don't have the time). Most everything I post comes from what I remember I have read in the past. I am an Armstrong fan & have read most articles about him in major magazines over the past 10 years.

I am 99% sure that he receives daily testosterone injections & that he was allowed to by the governing body of the Tour (and other sanctioning bodies) when he was competing.

Your natural level of testosterone can be determined & I am sure his was. His injections can only put him at that previously determined level (at least when he was legally competing). Now, I guess, he could 'Landisize' it, if he wanted to.

Hope this answers your question.
